fuel economy mandate:
dont know why you guys are pinning the high fuel economy cars on Obama, read up before you post. the bill was passed for 2020 the average mpg will be over 30 when its only low 20s right now. dodge has already cancelled their new viper and gm is thinking about getting rid of v8s or just going much smaller with thier motors for even the corvette and o yeah the zr1 is going to be a 1 time deal. Look into these things... ford has already close three of their truck and SUV production plants laying off hundreds of workers.

it makes sense because all hes saying is im going to help these companies, $ wise , get through this its going to cost millions of dollars for these companies to make this change pretty much revamping their whole line up, assembly lines and development processes. If we dont help these companies get through this a big part of our economy will fall hurting overall GDP and highering our unemployment rate worsening our status towards a recession even more.

independent fuel:
well both are pushing for this so people cant say **** either way. we have the second largest reserves of fuel in the world behind Russia is just has not been tapped into (mostly in Alaska)

o yeah... Universal Health Care:
and universal health care has flourished in different countries. they have the same technology as us and the same doctors, maybe not the cosmetic excellence, but tell me... can you get a doctor in this country to make a call to YOUR house in the middle of the night? they actually have doctors in france (univ. health care) that will come to your house to check on a child in the middle of the night.

also universal health care is not mandated and private practice can still flourish... but in other countries like the UK only around 5% of the population still use private practices.

Disclaimer : sorry, people who proclaim hes a muslim! he will ruin our government! we are all going to die! piss me off greatly, becuase ignorance is what hurts traditional America. But i have never dissed McCain and i believe some of the things he says i just believe we need a democrat in office to help us get out of this recession, but if McCain wins i would be fine if someone was that bad they would not be given a nomination by any party and if they **** up greatly in office they will be taken out.

Good for him... but i don't know if any of you keep up with some of Nostradamus's prophecies but his prediction of the New Worlds (USA's) next leader is right on spot with Obama's personality. This "next leader" is supposed to be loved by all and finally create peace in the middle east and world wide. After that accomplishment he will start taking over countres and killing everyone and anyone that defies him. Personally I dont give it any merit but its been on the History channel like every week since the primaries began.

Obama is a joke. I ask everyone why they are voting for him & they always say, & I quote " Iduh I like what he has to say"

Then I ask, what does he say that you like? AND THEY DON'T KNOW.

Most people like him b/c he is a great speaker.... DO THE RESEARCH PEOPLE.

??? Most doctors here in america work overnights at hospitals... So are you saying you won't take your kid in at midnight if they had an emergency??? Your statement doesn't make sense. It doesn't make someone worthless if they are 'on call'... how about Firefighers...Cops...Soldiers.... They all potentially have to work to save lives at 12am.....

I can't deal with this A-hole or any other liberal for that matter.

Let's see....Osbama want to eliminate the few tax breaks that are available and tax the sheetz out of everyone, talk about pulling our troops out with no real gameplan, take away my right to NOT have a healthcare plan and tax me more for someone else's healthcare, his liberal tree-hugging pals will probably destroy the fun car hobby, and then ban all weapons so no one can shoot him.

K-Rex is correct, Barrack Hussein Osbama is not a terrorist, he is just a bitch. Michelle Obama is the terrorist.

lol you make that up yourself?
tax breaks for middle class and lower class stay in tact (we are in a trillion dollar debt making **** more expensive for us and GDP decline)
he wants more tax brakes for the lower and middle class also to stimulate the economy
pulling the troops without a plan? really? whats your plan keep them there for more years accomplishing nothing while we are able to be attacked by Iran and North Korea and other countries of the sort?
and tax you for health care (if you accept it) which ends up being cheaper then the usual health care costs you get taken out of your check and pay for when you get **** done (studies have been done)
fun car hobby has already been PWNED by Bush (a republican if your that far behind)
and "I think there is an individual right to bear arms, but it's subject to commonsense regulation." IE no semi-autos and manditory child proofing for guns

Not saying I support Obama, but you just compared a man running for president to the number one enemy of the United States. I think the fact you did that just kinda discredited you and what you said, I know I stopped reading after that. And as I said, I don't necessarily support Obama.

I think no matter what party you support, whether it be the Democrats or Republicans I think it’s a time to be extra proud of your country that we have finally moved on from our traditional views and have finally nominated someone other than a white male to the role of president. I can safely say I'm excited to vote in this election. It will be a defining moment for this country.

But if I may rant, Obama better be prepared to be president. Not just should he be ready to be president, he better be willing to pave the way for every black presidential hopeful to come. This country is very old fashioned and the fact we nominated him is a big step, but if he is elected and does not lead well, black presidential hopefuls for years to come will have no chance. Due to the fact we as a country will put our blinders back on and start nominating due to skin color rather than what the person actually says.

i agree 100000% i am skeptical when it comes to my gut also but theory seems sound also if it was going to happen i dont know who it would be better with hes young blood and a very very strong speaker. the only other person i think would be better in a stance to take president would be Colin Powell, but he does not want to run and has stated that many times.

I don't really have a plan for Iraq, but I believe a pres candidate preaching 'end the war' should have a plan....and a solid plan at that.

I pay roughly $600/month for health insurance for myself and my wife. That would be $7200/year which is nothing compared to the $45,000 in taxes that I threw out last year. The last thing we need is the gubment taking control of another industry that they already f'd up.

Bush didn't own the car hobby, tree huggers did/do with all of their great plans.

so these "tax cuts" are going to pay for an on-going war in iraq while we are already in debt what about Iran? and McCain does not have a clear plan
either just saying were staying till its over. what does that tell you?

The United States spends at least 40% more per capita on health care than any other industrialized country with universal health care; also universal health care is an optional service, but when started in other countries private practice is ignored, because of how it works.

Got this from a republican site: According to the U.S. Statistical Abstract, government spending on health care in the U.S was $2,168 per person in 2001 (the last year for which comparison data are available). Here were the top 10 government spenders on health care in 2001.

* Norway: $2,550
* U.S.: $2,168
* Denmark: $2,098
* Iceland: $2,025
* Sweden: $1,832
* Germany: $1,803
* France: $1,599
* Canada: $1,531
* UK: $1,518
* Belgium: $1,417.

it passed while a republican was in office supported by both parties (and McCain cough). and it does not mean the "car hobby" will be gone. cars will be more technological and worried more about power/mass then just power.
