Few quick pics:

eBay GTSPEC clone header, Technafit SS lines, HOA 3 port EBCS.

TopSpeed strut tower bar repainted black (mental note: spraypaint on cardboard, not newspaper)

Awesome, how hard was the install? That's the only thing holding me back from putting them on, not sure how to do it. I have plenty of ATE Super Blue left over...

wow, how much does an "AMS" battery run? just curious how much of a markup they throw in there over the Deka or Odyssey equivalent...

too much, i'm sure. it comes with all the hardware to mount it in the car and was cheaper than the Buschur kit by like $100

thanks man! yup, newspaper stuck to bar, haha....next time i'll use cardboard.

so i got good news and bad news about the ams lightweight battery kit. i tried to install it...

first, the good news. here are pics of the stock battery vs. the "ams" battery:

now...the bad news...here are pics of why this battery won't fit on my car:

i tried laying it flat and it was even farther away from the terminals, which are stretched all the way out in those pics. any ideas?

Turn it 90 degrees (keep the ground on the fender-side), and lengthen the one wire that are too short. That was what i ended up going with because I felt it wasn't as secure as I'd like it to be with it mounted as you have in your picture.

I don't have a picture of my engine bay atm, or I'd post it. I ditched the OEM terminals though and went with some nice aftermarket ones.

The install is easy. If you want we could arrange a time and we could install the brake lines and subframe. Having a lift makes everything easy.

Awesome! Sounds great to me, when are you available?

Here's the Carbing subframe:

04wrbsti - sounds like an idea to try...i was worried about doing it that way because of how little of the battery the tiedown would cover.

True true. But, the first thing I said when I saw your picture was "Wow, that metal tiedown is really close to both battery lugs" Would scare me if it was my car, wouldn't take much to accidentally tap the terminal and get a portable welder.

What about going with a spacer to help spread the clamping force down?

ahh good point, i had it clamped down there pretty hard so it wouldn't move but that was a worry of mine.

i will try that....i'm going to try moving the ground first to see if i can stretch that terminal out far enough to do the battery the normal way...

Doug Wilkes from TopSpeed tuned the car March 2006 at AR Fab in Virginia.

I plan on heading up to XX Tuning and letting Chris redo the tune once I get the headers on the car.
