I was going to build a 600hp Nissan Pulsar GTR but I heard the Pontiac Soltice is selling like hotcakes.

Guess I'll pick up one of those. I mean, they must be better. Look at the sales figures.

yup.. problem is there is alot of cheap* choices for pc etc so people usually get junk etc. with mac your limited.. higher end pc stuff is much better than mac IMO. however macs do look better sitting on the tables at starbucks.

Apple is doing better then ever because of the Ipod. However, they still only have about 15% of the computer market share.

whats so special about the design? For me, maybe its just because I'm so used to windows, the system and file layout is confusing.

But the design, which I assume you mean the GUI appearance, isn't anything special. I have an object dock on my XP machine that kicks ass.

My problem with PCs has never been Windows. In fact I've had very few problems with Windows (except the whole security thing a few years ago which they have been diligent about since).

My problems have been with the makers of PC hardware. I have owned or worked with 10 different pieces of HP/Compaq computers/printers/cameras etc.. and not one of them has lasted a year beyond the warranty.

I've had about a 60-70% success rate with Dell.

Mac makes both hardware and software (OSX) and I have found both to be pretty reliable. However the last piece of computer hardware I have bought was 5 years ago. I can't vouch for Mac since they left PPC chips for Intel in terms of Hardware. (My iPod shuffle I bought 2 years ago is a tank though)

I can tell you that for every day business use Windows is easier. But when I get home and want to manage my MP3s and movies and internet usage, My iBook G4 with OSX 10.4 is is reliable and easy.

This conversation needs to be divided into two categories when comparing. Software and hardware.

My ultimate goal would be to break down and buy a Mac that I can run both OSX and Windows.

yeah i was talking about the GUI, all together, but the simplicity of the dsktop to be specific. i believe that it has more of a basic and user friendly layout. different things such as u can have 2-16+ desktops to work on (16 was the highest i went to i havent tried to go further), a button you can press to hide the icons on the desktop, the dashboard (which i only use for the weather). i just think it is cleaner all together. if i took away this window, all i see is the top menu bar and the background.
