Yep I agree AWESOME movie. After growing up on them, damn it was great to see a BIG movie. I pulled out some of my old Transformers too.

The whole movie I had this big cheesy smile and I kept elbowing my wife and saying "that's Optimus Prime, or that's Megatron etc..." lol. She just laughed...but thought the movie was really good too.

Somehow, this has turned into a “manly-man thread." There’s talk about transforming 50 foot robots, action scenes, military hardware, hot co-stars, and of all things – breasts.

Amazing.

the movie was great. surpassed all my expectations by far. im glad they didnt mess it all up by getting sub-par actors.

Favorite scene was when Barracade was chasing Bumble Bee and as he was running, transformed into the Saleen all in one motion...SICK.

i was suprised how funny the movie was..alot of comedy. when Bumble Bee pissed oil on the army guy i just lost it. classic!!

cant wait for the sequal.

Did anyone watch the movie past the credits and when the parents were being interviewed? Right after that they showed a space ship or jet flying up to space, who was this starscream or megatron? I only got a glimpse as I was leaving the theatre.

I haven't seen this yet, but I am filing it under "Spiderman 2". Everyone gave that movie great reviews and the audience loved it. I turned it off after Octopus (or whatever that guy's name is) was controlling the fusion experiment gone wrong - what a terrible movie (the worst). Terrible acting, horrible effects, unbelievable events, it had everything I hate. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't. It's a superhero movie I know, but at least Batman "explained" some of the events, and X-Men is a guilty pleasure. It's the attention to detail that makes or breaks an action film for me I guess.

Bay is an awful director / producer, period. He has pumped out some of the worst **** in Hollywood history with his cookie cutter formula. I cannot stand the complete "suspend all of your beliefs" style of movie making. If you wreck a car, wreck a real car and film what happens. Don't wreck a car with 200 gal of gasoline triggered to explode instantly on collision. We (the audience) just aren't that stupid. This is carried out on nearly every film today and I just won't give him another opportunity at my $20 to see this in theaters.

The Brown List of Michael Bay:
Texas Chainsaw massacre remake
Pearl Harbor
Armageddon
Bad Boys II
The Rock
Bad Boys
Miami Vice

I loved TF all through childhood, but was a little upset that Bay would be doing the remake. I'll probably see this on DVD, and end up turning it off half way through.

Transformers, the Movie (original animated) FTW.

the transformers could definately have used LESS detail. I was confused by much of the action scenes as I was trying to make out the details of the different autobots and decepticons.

I can't wait for the DVD so I can pause it and check stuff out.

I particularly liked the first scene with Bumble Bee at the car lot when he opened the door into the VW Beetle. I did a lot of explaining to my girlfriend during the movie when I randomly laughed and no one else did... she enjoyed the movie about as much as I did.

I don't remember... but did Barricade get away? Barricade was my favorite... I'm glad they kept the Saleen number and S badge in the grill :-)

Anyone else notice the SRT-8 Charger in the city, and the GTO that got ripped apart by the helicopter?

I went to see it simply because it is a Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Action movie, bring back the idea of characters when i was a bit younger. I thought it was fantastic.
I took my younger brother and step brother, and they both loved it.
It actually beat my expectations, i thought they were going to kill the ruin something from my childhood, instead they twisted it a bit. Still very enjoyable. 8.5/10. Will definitely drag the girlfriend to see it

I havent read the whole thread yet but I did go see it last night. I went in with the expectation they were going to ruin my favorite part of my child hood. I still have Transformers sheets on my bed lol. (ill post pics if needed)

This move was freakin awesome, I was a little dissapointed at the voice actors. And im not sure if Optimus was the same but he sounded pretty close. The only thing I didnt like was the story, it was cheezy. i got pat that though because everytime I looked up i was like holy ****, thats real Transformers!!! I cant wait for the DVD now. Mos def one of my new favs. Iwent home and watched the Animated move x2!

what a horrible over hyped piece of crap that movie turned out to be....corny
robots spinning around in the air like ninjas and you could see **** because that moved so fast, beat story, and one hot chick....the only people who should like this movie are those who werent growing up in the eighties.

sidenote: i asked for my money back at the theater and told the manager the movie was junk he laughed agreed and said he couldnt help me out, but he did give me a free small coke and popcorn voucher....Verrry Niiiice!
