i think he's refering to either

a.) things like evasceration are a lot more common in motorcycle accidents

or

b.) i don't think if you're DoA you get your organs harvested. I know that we dont transport dead people because the hospital won't take them and we end up having to keep them in the ambluance until the ME gets them. when you have your organs harvested they do it in the OR of a hospital, a team comes in with their own equipment and uses our OR to take whatever they want, then they leave with coolers of body parts. i THINK you have to die at the hospital for them to harvest your organs, since the hospital wont accept dead people.. if that makes any sense

OR

c.) when cyclists ( or anyone for that mater ) die, the medical examiner doesn't generally come by, scoop you off and jet. especially when you get torn to **** like the guy pictured. your body and the scene are photographed carefully before ANYONE or ANYTHING is removed ( generally speaking ) the problem with that is there is a limited window of time after you die that your organs can be harvested. after too long you're no longer any use, so if anything the only thing they will take is skin grafts, and possibly bone

or he could mean something compltly unrelated, beats me lol.

on another note, after seeing a body after the harvesting guys came i am no longer an organ doner. that crap gave me nightmares

I’ve seen a harvested body as well. Not pretty at all. It really bothered me for a while.

It was on here awhile ago.

Breakdown:
Dumb bitch had fight with daddy.
Took daddy's porsche.
Drove really fast in the turnpike.
Crashed into a toll booth.
Roof crumpled in and ripped part of her face off and peeled open her skull.
Blood and brains all over toll booth.

Great. I just bought another bike today.

Nothing really looks fatal except for the open head trauma. Theres a good chance he would have lived through it with a back protector and full face shield shoei.

*Provided there wasn't any ABFT (anterior blunt force trauma)

His abdomen looks pretty intact for the amount of damage which the rest of his body went through.

Just from those pics I would put money on a cartwheeling effect for several hundred feet. Thus, the sheering off of his left femur (which is hard to accomplish btw)

Obviously he would have suffered severe spinal truam and would have been in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

^ nah i bet he would have bleed to death before EMS got to him, look at all those open fracturs

look at pic 8 i bet 50 bucks his femoral artury was ruptured, he would have been bleed out before anyone called 911

This is also true. I thought about that for a second.

Butttttt......... His right leg appears to be pinching off the great saphenous which would really slow his bleed out.

His open femur fracture wouldnt be a concern of mine for atleast an hour after the crash.

Judging by that hole in the side of taco bell, I bet he made a ****ing rukous and EMS was on their way within 10 minutes.

I bet a air pressure boot could have kept him kicking till he got to a lvl1 trauma cntr.

near the distal most injury? i don't know, i'm not seeing any abnormal body positioning or anthing to cause enough pressure to stop any blood flow in the femoral sheeth. then again, in picture 8 it looks like he's already in a post mortum bag so chance are he isn't laying in the same way he landed. i wish there was a better shot of everything distal to the transverse plane :/

drift, what are the leads on the brachial artery for? i have only been on 1 DoA and we didn't attach any leads, the medic with us called it and we left.
