I agree.. I absolutely love my 70-200 2.8 IS
So worth the money

Primes are cool and all, but the versatility of a telephoto lens is great.

That's what school loans are for!

I remember my first year of college, I took the federal grant and bought a Jim Wolf Tech ECU and B&B Tri-Flo catback exhaust for my 300ZX lol

^ werd. a monopod definitly comes in handy with the non-IS/VR lenses. I have learned that through much experience

Bogen monopods are so nice. Not even that badly priced, I paid 50 bucks for mine. Can support upto 25lbs and its pretty compact.

whats the point of a monopod, you still have to balance it

I've only shot with a monopod a few times but didn't really see the benefit on anything lighter than a 300mm f2.8

really? My scrawny arms can handle 11 lbs for about 4 hours (5D, grip, 16-35 2.8L, Custom Brackets QRS-35, 580EX). When I'm panning with just the 1D MKII & 70-200 2.8L IS, I'm usually good for about 5-6 hours until my left arm gets sore.
