yup, you're right ray....pretty much you pay a few hundred, tell them what you want for it, and they list it....thing is, they get people who have lots of money from overseas that see these auctions and will pay ridiculous amounts of money for a specific vehicle. They'll escrow the money to autostrada and tell them to ship it ASAP overseas. Thats why people ask so much for their cars here....some rich guy from Saudi Arabia will see it and buy it without thinking.

heres what you do run a car fax,

see if the previous registered owner was the dealer or scott

if the dealer owned it on the car fax you will see

scott as the original owner
then autostrada
then you

Scott screwed them over and they should approach him to settle their beef with him, and they should make things right with you because you are the buyer from them!

Not defending Autostrada or anyone else for that matter...but we all have to realize...they're car salesmen, not mechanics. They don't know the parts installed on a car and would have one hell of a time trying to identify them all. Autostrada technically never owns half the cars that are on their lot. I know for a fact that they have most of the cars there on consignment...which means they detail the car, do the advertising, and put it on their lot to sell. What they do is pretty straightforward and requires little to no work from their staff...provided they get the correct information from the owner. The reason they may seem high on the price is because that's what the owner is trying to get for the car and most of the time, they don't budge. Technically, Scott did sell the car to him, Autostrada was just the median for the sale. Had the car belonged to Autostrada in the first place, he would never know anything of the previous owner.

Wait is this the same Scott that traded his SRT-4 for the silver Evo? If so I CANNOT stand that kid. He really is a piece of **** and I would expect nothing less from him. He thinks that he is hot **** and would make smart ass remarks to people's cars that he thinks are "inferior." So....if ya decided you wanna like break his legs or something, I would be happy to help

Looks like the dealership bought it from him. It comes up as 'Dealer Inventory' right before I bought it.

I remember YEARS ago the HORROR stories about them chopping of supras and piecing them together (aka selling pure JUNK as top notch). I didn't know people actually bought from them, as I'm sure if you check the BBB website you will find hundreds of complaints (at least used to).

Sorry to here that you got burned. They also tried selling my friend a flood car that they said was in 100% perfect condition.

Thats the exact stuff im talking about. I haven never heard or seen one good thing about them.

Luckily I'm not retarded when it comes to cars. Unfortunately when you look at an SRT there's no easy way to tell there's a stage two kit on it. I didn't know the difference at the time. I've since replaced 90% of the things that scott did the car. The only thing I kept was the intake, a couple gauges, and the boost controller. My mod list is getting large.

has there been any progress with your situation? I read the thread and couldnt help but wonder what has come of it? i can say that if he "sold" the car the autostrada then they should be liable. otherwise it will go back and forth for a good time and nothing might come of it. on a nother note, i know the kid.he likes to hang around with us. he did bomb his engine at the track but the dealership didnt fill it with oil or something of that nature. i know he wasnt at fault.

if you live around him swing by applebees in newtown. he hangs there all the time. i think hes buddies with someone there. you'll know his car if its there.. AMS intercooler up front and its nuts on the road. i know he pushed just under 400awhp. he posted the vid up. but right now and for a while on since hes evo is getting a new built motor, look for his dads truck. he does have a very nice and fast Porsche Cayenne TT. all blacked out and loud as hell.

Ray- how come he didnt come to u on the Evo?? he used to talk you up all the time and he envied you old srt4. what he dumped into that would have settled any old debts he made wiht you
