No one here has said anything to the effect that the book was truth. Just that it was good reading.

I'm personally an atheist, but this book had nothing to do with that.

I picked up the book on a thursday night and finished it on saturday morning two days later. It is a very good book. Obviously i couldn't put it down. As for what i think on the topic I will keep it to myself. There are two things you should never bring up in a public discussion one being Politics and the other Religion. : )
Also this topic peaked my interest so i went and picked up Holy Blood, Holy Grail. The book that Dan Brown kinda got the idear from. Its a very tuff read but very informative and adds substance to the whole Devine Blood line.
Disclaimer***I read the book about a year ago so im not a bandwagon jumper.*** Disclaimer

Apparently you don't read too much?

This book caused such a firestorm with Catholicism when it came out and it made me wonder whether it was to save face or to actually cover something up. Obviously, it's meant to be a work of fiction, but due to the accuracy of the real life aspects, it makes you forget that you are reading a book and wonder if the things mentioned could actually be partially true. Some of the theories on the artwork is just amazing.

Lets get some other opinions. Keep it civil.

Not true. I read plenty. The poster you quoted said:

Perhaps I'm too literal for my own good, but in my line of work, wonder does not equal truth.

And than it went on to ask for OPINIONS ON THE BOOK. I don't understand how you read and quote PART of the paragraph, but somehow manage to forget the rest. I don't think you are very good in "your line of work", and should consider pulling out of that career. I don't think I questioned anyone challenging that the book was not fiction, I was stating my OPINION on the book and WHY it has caused so much controversy. With that said, I guess you missed all of the other replies that stated that it could "very well be true", "blurs the line between (the imaginery when it comes to the bible) fact and fiction", as well as numerous other posts pertaining to fact vs fiction?

As I previously stated in this post, consider a pulling out of your "line of work". Perhaps you would be better suited for a pre-kindergarten grammar teacher?

Whatever dude.

You still have not shown a single instance of someone in this thread stating "I think this is true", or anything to that effect. Perhaps you need to retake pre-kindergarten grammar to brush up on your reading comprehension.

The only reason I said anything about your original post to begin with is because you emphasized, numerous times, that the book is fiction, as if we're all a bunch of retards saying "yeah, this is totally true, it's a huge conspiracy".

You aren't getting it. I NEVER SAID SOMEONE IN THIS THREAD STATED IT WAS TRUE. It asked for opinions, and like I said, it's a good fictional book. I'm not sure if you are just illiterate or retarded. This is from my last post in case your dumb ass forgot to read the post, before actually replying ...

"I" need to brush up on my comprehension??? I really don't know why you have a hard on for me, but please, give my balls some room to breathe. The reason there is controversy is because people are taking it for more than what is was written as, a FICTIONAL BOOK. I REALLY don't undestand why you are acting like a retard??? So much for keeping this thread civil, little did we know it was going to be bickering over something so stupid.

My response to your intial post was because, as I've already mentioned, you said FICTIONAL several times, which leads me to believe that you, for whatever reason, thought that those of us discussing the book believed it to be true. If not, why beat a moot point to death?

After I pointed that out, politely I might add, you immediately became a dick. As for me being illiterate or retarded, I am neither, but thanks for asking.

Troll i found that book highly addictive. I read it cover to cover in less than 48 hours. Enjoy and let us know what you thought of it.

I somehow managed to stop reading the book dead in the middle, and haven't touched it since about the time this thread started. Maybe it's time to pick it back up.
