Some of the AW crowd seems to be pissed at IFLYSOLO for a couple of reasons.
They claim that by showing the video on a public forum without the effected party's permission, he is jeopardizing they're ability to get an insurance settlement. Some also fear that this will force insurance company's to raise rates for those holding such track events to the point that they will disappear.

Personally, it was an accident no matter how you look at it. Can the blame be shared by the track organizers, the Evo driver, and those who parked there? Absolutely. IFLYSOLO seems to be taking a beating for no reason.

You would think AUDI owners would be a little more intelligent and mature than that. I guess not.

How is IFLYSOLO at fault in anyway? Tons of people video tape their track days for personal fun to watch again, or to check their lines and improve track times.

If they really want to ban someone who was driving safely on the track, following instructor directions, and doing what he was supposed to do, then they are a bunch of idiots who really shouldn't even speak.

The EVO was on a straight! How is anyone except himself at fault? I'm pretty sure he didn't hit the gas, break all four tires loose and hit the cars on the side at 80mph. I don't understand why those cars were staged there though.

The Buzz around the EVO is because he was driving like an asshat all weekend. I can only speak about Friday, since that was the only day I was there. During the coruse of the day heard many people complaining about his unsafe driving habits. At one point we were on the track at the same time, and and checkered flag was out. This means you slow down, do not pass, and take a cool-down lap. The kid in the EVO proceeded to fly pass people (even outside of the designated passing zone). He got about 1/4 of the way around the track again until he finally slowed down.

Im not sure what his instructors both days were thinking, but it does not seem like he was listening. He was had a horrible line through the south course all day. It seemed like he thought it was a "pass as many cars as you can" contest. If he had slowed down and listened, then maybe he would have learned something.

This is just my POV.

I heard there is also an issue with the fact that his instructor told him to do one thing after the crash, and he just plain old didn't listen. I can't tell she was saying, but toward the end of the video, the instuctor was looking at him like he did something seriously wrong.

Unfortunate set of circumstances to have this happen. I'm curious to know how far the instructor went to control the Evo driver-before such an event could happen. How do you hit stationary vehicles staged in a grid?

I know that car: iflysolo-is it a red Audi sedan, NY tags? Seen him in Nassau coliseum autox. I've also once entered the same rally as him. I think he's from Staten Island or Brooklyn.

I'm at work right now, so I can't access the streetfire website. He uses a stickypod cam mounted to the sunroof, and/or inside winshield. I have to go home and check this out.

You are right Howard! In the video the EVO comes into a turn and seems to cut his wheel hard to the right (maybe trying to drift the turn?). Instead of sliding through the turn, the car grips the surface and swerves right off the track into the staged cars.

Then the Audi who is behind turns off the track onto the grass and drives towards the accident scene. You can see the instructor looking at him and putting her hands on his wheel to make him turn away. But then she takes off her seatbelt, so I am not sure what happened.

Somebody dubbed over the audio with music so you cannot hear the instructor after the accident. But I am willing to bet that she is telling him to do somehting and he wouldn't listen...(why else would you put music over that specific sections of your own tape?)

It seems that the guy in the S4 is catching some heat because he did not listen to his instructor. She was telling him to get away from the accident scene and he just decided to pull off the track and drive towards the accident. His excuse on the Audi forums was that he did not want to drive through all of the oil from the accident. Many people have already said there was not oil from the accident on the track.

http://elisetalk.com/forums/showthre...no%3Cbr+%2F%3E

This thread has some good information, including the instuctor from the Audi comming on to set the record straight about what she was saying to him after the crash. Based on what she says, I would vote to have this guy banned from other track events as well. I feel lucky that his car was fast then mine in a straight line, and he was nowhere near me on the friday sessions.

Accidents do happen at the track, but when people stop listening to the instructor and start trying to show off things can get ugly. It happens to everyone while driving on the track, your adrenaline is pumping and you want to catch the guy in front of you but sometimes you have to know your limits.
Everyone makes mistakes the important thing is that no one was hurt.

I read briefly that the Evo driver sought care at a hospital? (Perhaps misread)

Now that I've seen this vid and some external links-I definitely know who this person is. I've met him before. I can narrow it down to one of two boroughs he lives in and I know what company he works for and basically what he does for a living. You can pretty much imagine his real life demeanor based on this video-and the fact that he wanted to video his buddy's aftermath, not to mention the 'skillz' behind the wheel.

Back on topic. There is enough internet chatter all over the Lotus/Subby/A4/Evo forums about this particular incident. Very unfortunate for the victim automobiles.

Looks like it happened in the East course of Pocono where there are no official 'pit boxes' nor a seperated 'pit lane'.

I just rewatched the video ofter doing some reading on the subject. The Audi driver definately fights the instructor every time she tries to get the car pointed in a different direction, after the music starts.
You can see her look at him, them she glances at the camera. I can only assume he tried to explain that he wanted to film it.

In the thread on the Elise forum someone mentioned something about the Audi driver telling the instructor that he wanted to tape it. I think the instructor said he told her something along those lines.

This guy is shaping up to be a real asshat! In the same thread someone said or posted a link to a thread that said the Audi driver got kicked out of the Glenn the next day for refusing to take an instructor.
