suspension is stock with new shocks, but my winter project is to convert the car from torsion bars to full coilover suspension, and the wheels are CCW LM5, 18x12 in the rear and 18x9 up front. centers are brushed titanium grey finish. not using factory rear spacers. fronts still have factory 1in front spacer

man, so i was having trouble shifting into thrid gear, and didnt want to do anymore damage to the gear box so decided to start my winter overhaul early....this will be a ongoing thread as i will be overhauling almost the complete car

so i wasnt 100% happy with the interior, not enough contrast...

one italian leather hide

one dash core straightened and hole filled

no idea what i am doing, but came out nearly perfect

decided to remove my gauges and replace the old nasty black stuff with a nice piece of grey alcantara, that way this color is still carried from the seats to the dash

no more alcantara door panels,..something a bit more baller

onto the real stuff, engine all unhooked,

and all out, this was not nearly as bad as i thought, but still very very scary for the first time

what a mess to clean up

well, 5 hours and drivers door is done, measure 200 times and cut a little at a time with fresh carbon fiber...

dash is also installed

i think the handles and pulls match much much better then before, before anyone asks, i plan on making custom rear interior panels to house the speakers...i have not yet figured out what i am doing with the stereo yet

new clutch disc
new starter

wevo joint )wevo shifter comes tomorrow

took the stock shifter apart and painted the base gloss black (this might change to flat black, the Wevo will be silver, so not sure how the gloss will go with it)

got my heating system apart and replaced that ****ty paper hose

CV joints are back together, new flanges will be here friday, picking up my transmission on friday:D

removed about three more wire harnesses
-sun roof
-warning buzzer
-seat belt light
-modified brake light harness to removed entire warning harness and retain brake lights

so, after battling with my parents power washer for three days, and creating new words that i didnt even know existed, i decided i was running out of time (been 58 degrees last two days), jumped the gun and bought a power washer (had to take from car funds)

but the result was wellllll worth it, i cant believe how much caked on $hit there was

before...

after about ten minutes

tomorrows task is the oil tank, this thing is a mess

ten pounds of weight savings just in removing the dirt that was behind in the tank

really stupid thought,...but only if this dirt could talk? i know my car has been in three different states with three different owners.....maybe it has some good stories?;)

not much on update, still a ton of parts coming in and piling up...

i think i have about 20 hours in stripping the engine bay, that rubber coating was about 1/4" thick in some spots, and NOTHING would take it off, went through three wire wheels on my angle grinder

engine bay stripped, and braces welded in and ground down[img]http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads19/0011327633075.jpg[/img
]

some self etch primer

some filler

am i the only one that spent a hour wet sanding his engine bay? and 10pm

and finally some color,

so i ended up using a satin clean, i needed to tone down the blue a bit, it was really bright,...my fault on mixing the paint probably...i didnt get any pics of the clear, but got some more work done today

cleaned up the engine board in the back...little steal wool and i have a brushed look, amazing how dirty and nasty this thing was,..hard to get pics of

starting to look like a car again, i spent the time and unwrapped every harness and rewrapped with fresh tape ...old stuff was all brittle and nasty...took forever...but looks great
