man if u really run 12.2's then i need u to drive my car down the track next time ur at atco let me know, also the only reason i said that its bull**** because 99.9% of evo owners including myself dont do low 12's with just a turbo back exhaust and a tune, i did 12.87 with turbo back and a tune for 12.2's i had to add in the cams, definitely when ur out at atco let me know.

I also smell BS. 12.2 is no joke and takes a very serious car, BUT

I just don't see a car gaining 100whp (est of what it would take for 12.2) with so very little mods. Trapping 109 and running 12.2 just doesn't add up in an EVO or any other AWD, small displacement car. You just have to shift too many times to run that low of time with that trap. You should be trapping 113+ for that time. Dropping .8s requires quite a bit of HP over stock.

Aren't you the same guy that was at Island last year running 12.8 and claiming it was 100% stock when in reality you had an ECU flash. Makes it kind of hard to believe what your saying now...

Dude, like I said before, that time at island, I told the guy all I had was a dynoflash but in reality I had a test pipe also, I didn't think it was that important, and I didn't know who the person was that asked me so I didn't really care. You guys can think what you want but it's the truth. I'm not making all kinds of power with my car as you can see by the trap speeds, but I am in fact making very good use of what it has..109mph is probably only around 300WHP..Heres a kicker for you guys, I also ran a 12.297@107.39 that night, mabye the wind had something to do with it. and my best was actually 12.24 that night.

yeah...but what you dont seem to understand is this....the lower your e.t's get, the harder they are to drop. for instance, when your running 14.8 and all you add is 30whp and run 13.7, if you add another 30whp to the car it wont drop you another second...understood?
in order for this guy to drop from 12.2 to a high 11...hes gonna need atleast an additional 60-80whp to accomplish it...which your not getting from his mods...your engine just does not breathe well enough for that. without cam upgrades, or nitrous, it wont happen

You need to trap about 115mph on average to have a shot at 11s in EVO/STI/WRXs. Yes, some have done it on less, but it takes quite a bit of HP to gain 8 more mph on traps at this point.

no i understand that i was commenting about the statement above mine........i also know that kevin added simply a turbo back exhaust on his legacy and dropped a full second, then flashed his ecu and gained almost another half a second. simple mods gain more power/lower et's than N/A cars.

Thats a good point, but seems a bit much..I only need 3-4 more MPH and it's not gonna take 60-80hp I don't think. We'll see

agreed......another note that TNT forgot to mention is......you dont need more power to go faster.gearing, weight reduction, and traction are a big factor. my next batch of mods i plan to drop about a second off my time without adding anymore power. drag radials/tranny with shorter gearing......either way i think he should crack 11's without to much trouble

i didnt forget weight reduction gearing or traction....he didnt mention it. all he said was aadd a boost controller and race gas with a dual tune type thing. he mentioned nothing about the other stuff so thats what i based my statement on. my point was that the faster you go the harder it gets..plain and simple.

idk if your gonna get 11's on a VIII. Im pretty sure that your gonna need Turboback, intake, fuel pump, MBC, custom tune, C16, and alot of boost to get into the 11's without cams. Just my opinion. But hey best of luck

Wow, I can't believe you guys are giving him this much shit. I believe him 100%. The reason why his car is going 12.2 @ only 109 is because of the following: 1) He is getting a decent 60ft (high 1.6), 2) he is driving it like he stole it, and 3) the gears his car has are ideal for where his car is now, i.e., he is right near redline as he crosses the line in 4th gear. If he had a few more mods without an increased rev limiter, he'd likely run the same ET but at a higher trap speed, like 111-113. This is because he'd have to shift to 5th gear before hitting the finish line.

I think it also helps that Atco is one of the fastest tracks in the country although from what I've heard lately, it sounds like Cecil County may be even faster...? Hehe.

you are probably thinking of what you need to hit 11's in a sti- and you'd need that plus an upgraded turbo, a professional driver, and a 100 mph tailwind. a mack truck smashing into the back of it right as the sti launches wouldn't hurt either, the mack truck would have to be traveling 60mph for a good enough launch.
