PS Does the GTi have "S" mode on the shifter selector? It definitely seems to linger in lower gears in that mode.
Off topic. But Bubba Hotep was an awesome movie

Thanks Evo mike. I'd like to save and go big like APR StgIII but I don't know that they have a Stage III for my newer EA888 motor.

The GTI's have the S mode as well. With a tune (not sure if they are available for that DSG yet) the transmission performs more like lamborghini, r8's, etc. It shifts even smoother in drive, quicker/harder in sport, and manual becomes true manual where it doesn't shift for you anyway.

Yeah, the GTI has the S mode where you can shift with the paddles. You can also move the shifter over in D and shift that way. The DSG was designed to adhere to the drivers style. If you are in D, it will linger because it still has some slush box characteristics. For example it will drop to 1st when you slow down if you are pulling around a shopping center.

There are some tunes available for the DSG but I think the money can be spent in other places to enhance the performance of your car.

I agree AWE parts are big $ and not necessarily worth it for hard parts if you're handy with SEARCH and a wrench. AWE's software supplier GIAC however is totally worth the $ they are the best in the business. They've been burning chips since the beginning of "chip tuning" and have hadexcellent connections with VW, Audi, and Porsche or years. APR is a close second for software but better for hardware ($ wise).
