Because they are not native to PA I belive. Its a weaksauce argument. From what I read, breeders pissed off the wrong people and everyone else suffers.

How big are they? I've been fortunate lately. 55 gallon tank was given to me, so I water tested it last night. All good.

My neighbor had yellow cichlids with blood red teeth that breed like mad. He offered to give me two electric blue Jack dempseys. Couldn't say no....

I was watching 'yeah dude' last night, and Peter Olenick had a fish tank with decent sized sliders and dempseys together. Is it possible to do without all the fish getting 187'd? I've never had a fishtank before.

I dated someone who's dad got a monkey when he was 12. Cost 50 bucks or something. Monkey proofing a house is tough work. Baby locks on everything would be a pain. His died when it pulled the blanket off it's own cage at night. Exposure I guess.

If i'm not mistaken, isn't it expensive and difficult to get the permits in PA? I've been told it's a few G's.

Anyone have fresh water stuff for sale?

Right now I have a small fish room with about 8 tanks all 29 gallon or less. All are freshwater and most are planted. This weekend I will be starting on the stand for our new display tank that will go in the living room. The 90 will be an all male Peakcock and Hap tank.

We also have a Bengal. Looks kinda wild and gets on the big side for a domestic. Ours is about 8 months and is 12lbs.

I'm thinking about getting either a Hog nose snake or scorpions.

Thoughts?

We found our on Craigslist a couple hours away. Actually towards Lancaster. If you search online you can find some breeders, just may need to travel to find one.

Ours is a Marble pattern named Salem. He is quite the crackup.

I laughed pretty hard. Then I felt bad.... Darwinism at it's finest.

Kodiak is the sickest dog I've ever seen. The stance isn't wide like a malamute, and the coloring is mixed silver, black, white, and brown. Help me find one! Or at least teach me more.

He doesn't look like a Malamute because he looks like a wolf haha. He is hard to deny.

Example:

A wild wolf

Kodiak

He is a great dog for us, however I would not recommend a high-content wolf dog or "hybrid" as they are sometimes called to ANYONE. Mid to low content wolf dogs are the best "dogs" and still have the wolfy apperance without the wolf characteristics (running away, skiddishness, prey drive, inability to be trained). Kodiak is very big @ +100lbs at 2 years and stands a few inches taller than me when his paws are on my shoulders and I am 5'3". We have gone through NUMEROUS obedience classes, training schools, etc to make him a "good" family dog and to be obedience trained. Wolf dogs are stubborn and much more difficult to train than any other dog, however obedience training is a must. If they are not properly obedience trained and socialized very early on, thats when problems can occur. Kodiak definitely has wolf characteristics and his prey drive is extremely high. We also have a German Shepherd and while her prey/chase drive is high- his is rediculous compared to hers. Do a lot of research on the dogs and breeds before getting one- as I said, they are NOT easy dogs.

However, with the right respect and devotion they can be excellent companions and they sure make an awesome running partner! If you want to know anything in particular- just PM me and I can give you references to good breeders, etc.

I'm glad you had the time to fill me in. A dog like that wouldn't get the exercise it needed under my care. In sept. I had ACL replacement done. There's no way I could walk a 60lb. six month old wolf without risking further reconstruction again.

And I don't use A/C in the summer....

Dog resume:
cousin breeds cane corsos (sick!)
grew up with a Brittany spaniel, then rescued a 10 month old springer spaniel. He's 11-12 now and will always be my favorite. Got him after he was beaten and tortured.
Flat coat lab (raised)
old English sheep dog (raised)

Anyone own BIG dogs?
Mastiff, mt. Dog, Newfoundland, st. Bernards??

dude, a Bengal. That is bad-A. Such big eyes they have. I'd be a little freaked if I came home at night and all I see are huge Bengal eyes staring at me lol. Guess you get used to it.

Does my hedgehog count? He's a camo-ninja type. Very rare! :D
