They keep calling you back because they know you will come back, there walking on you. stop being a yes women and start being a no women, don't put up with this. Find something else.

I would look around for another job and put your two weeks in. Maybe after putting your two weeks in and saying you are going to another job that will give you leverage and they will offer you what feel you are looking for? If not there loss and they most likely will kick themselves after they see what they lost.

I was in the same situation as you with my first job. I worked there for so long they was never offered any sort of raise. One summer I started working at another job but still continued to work nights at my old job just to help out the employee's. Honestly $$ wise I certainly didn't have to at the time. When it came time for raises the boss had the nerve to say well you didn't work full time during the summer so you don't get a raise (once again). After that I just put my 2 weeks in and went to a better job. Only reason I stuck around was because I enjoyed the employee's and liked helping them out.

Only issue is with the economy finding another job is very hard. I have friends that have been out of college for a few years now and working a 2-3 part time jobs just to pay their bills and keep themselves entertained. Cannot find a real full time job to save their life.

Working at dealerships sucks.
The only perk about working at them is cheap parts and labor rates.

I waited 2 years to get a $.50 per hour increase at a job once. that was after my workload quadrupled and my health insurance rates skyrocketed. which was basically if I get hurt good luck with a copay.

just start looking and ask around. as soon as a job was presented to me I was GONE. rumor has it the place is a mess without me. just like I told the agnorant boss in an argument at one point when he told me I didn't do **** there.

I worked a job from junior year of hs until a year and a half ago, almost 7 years. It was mostly part time and on call until my boss opened another store. He asked me to come on full time and be a lead driver, which I did. Quit my full time job and worked for him at both locations. That lasted about 6 months til he cut me back to part time, so I had to go out and find another job. After my new job cut into my hours there, one day a week for about an hour, my boss had the balls to tell me that the only reason I was still employed was because I had a baby on the way. I was pissed because I gave up a secure job with benefits because he made me a promise and I trusted him. After that day I had to call out because my wife was sick and I was worried about her (first time ever calling out in 7 years) he gave me a really hard time about it, calling me unreliable. The next day was one of our busiest days of the year and we were already shorthanded. I decided to pull a no call no show. After he screwed me over several times in the past year, it was the only logical thing I could do. I got so many txts that day from co-workers telling me how bad I screwed him and how funny it was. Its a shame really because he used to be a nice guy, just being successful went to his head I guess. Bottom line is I stood up for myself and sadi **** you because loyalty wasn't getting me anywhere.

I'm going through this right now.

Company I work for, I busted my ASS for them for over a year. Helped them build two of their stores. Then I made the decision to go back to school, and I changed positions and was able to help out the full time car installer take his work load from a 7 day a week workload to only having to work 4/5. It was a good setup, I made the hours I needed and the company was able to be more productive.

Fast forward to now. I have been cut down to one day a week and I have been told that I will be laid off at the end of February due to "lack of work" for me. So basically the company is screwing me because they don't want to pay me to be there, and it's not like I'm making more than I should. I took a substantial pay cut for this position...

Trust me, I'm outta there ASAP, that is, before they get the chance.

yeeeeah, thats not really standing up for yourself, logical, or mature. But i do understand where you are coming from and i probably would have done a similar thing.

all businesses generally work the same. get as much from your employee for as little as possible. use and abuse them till they quit, then do it over to the next schmuck for slightly more money.

Nah, I can't. I can't wait over a month making only 8 hours a week till they lay me off, I'd be losing so much money it's not even funny...

I have a job offer and an interview today to go through, so shouldn't be much of an issue. It's her same situation more or less, cut hours, pay cuts or no pay increase, and doesn't matter what you do you're not gonna get your own way. And I'm sorry, not all businesses are like that, some companies DO actually give a **** about their employees. It's better business that way anyway.

It def was immature. No call/no show would be instant fired at many jobs unless there was a really good explanation. I bet it felt great to stick it to them.

That's why I did it. I didn't need the money, I was just there cause it was cash, and it was easy money. I've only ever walked out of 2 jobs like that, and both for good reason. the other one was because my boss decided to steal $2k off me, but I guess walking away from that was immature too.

I would just suck it up at this job until you can find another, honestly. I wouldn't do any more extra work or what not. At this point, you literally have ZERO leverage against them. If they are not worried about paying you fairly, they are not worried about keeping you on board, either.

if your hours are cut, and you are working one day a week, you should be able to collect partial unemployment, i did it once when work was slow for a week.
