1st time driving in the snow in my new truck.

Not much weight in the back + 1.5" of ground clearance + 270ft/lbs + lsd + snow = near inevitable fail.

$20 says that before the end of this winter, my valance is gonna be somehow ripped off... again.

The Fusion made it through last winter just fine, it doesn't get traction very well, it's just all about the driving.

Its not quite slammed, but its def low. It can def go another 2" front and back, but i'd be in a stretcher with a broken spine in like 2 months with the roads here. and i bought it with the lowering kit. i usually dont like buying modded vehicles, but the rest of the truck was clean, and i got it for like 1/3 of what you see them at dealerships for.

Is there a ' not quite slammed'? Lowered is lowered, doesn't matter of you can do more or not.

I got stuck last year when we got it once bad last year. That was with my mustang. My Monte Carlo can't spin the tires to save its life so I think I'm in good shape.

Jon, any pointers about driving in the snow with the STi? I run 225/45 Blizzaks on my daily driver.

if it's going to be bad, i'll just take my damn durango down there. not much for the snow, but, more for when penndot decides to throw a **** ton of salt on the roads

be very smooth with your movements, if you jerk around itll slide. same with the throttle. ive spun all 4 at highway speeds (on summer tires with a dusting of snow lol) and thats ****ing scary. as long as you drively calmly and aware of whats going on you should be fine.

I thought the point of AWD was so it drives better. Sounds no different then my car... :-)

I would love to drive an STi in the snow just once to see how they feel though.

angelo, if possible, when we get the first heavy snow, go find and open parking lot and drive around, do some silly stuff and find out how the car is going to act for you.

lol its not a ****ing SUV, its a sports car that makes a lot of torque very early in the power band. and the suspension on my car was set up for very aggressive back road driving.
