She hit a deer according to FB.

Speaking of deer. The other weekend I was driving with 4 people in the Honda. Doing 50mph in a 45mph zone on a back road, take a turn(mind you in between trees), right after the turn there are about 15-20 deer just standing in the middle of the road. Locked up all 4 wheels and was sliding nearly sideways into them. Would have made a good feast, haha.

aside from a hole in my grill, a cracked lip and a dent next to my fog light on the front of my bumper, this is the majority of the damage (meaning, the unclipped/bent bumper, broken headlight housing and bent in hood):

turns out some people from State Farm are awesome and know how to do their jobs. Others on the other hand, not so much.

I have rental coverage, I don't have rental coverage, I do, I dont, I do. That's the result of half of the phone calls that were made today. Turns out, I have pretty awesome rental coverage, but only when the car is in the shop getting fixed. Oh, then I heard an agent would be in touch with me within 72 hours and I shouldn't drive my car so that the fur stays in place to show that it was hit by a deer and not a fake claim. Then I got a phone call saying that someone would be out to look at my car in 3-5 business days because that's how the appraisers work. Meanwhile, I couldn't get a rental car covered because my car is technically drivable, but i'm still not supposed to drive it so it stays in the current condition. PS. it's supposed to rain this weekend. In the end, it turned out to be 3-5 days in general meaning by Sunday. So whenever someone, hopefully, calls my cell phone instead of either of the other numbers on the policy I'll be able to get this nonsense squared away and in the shop soon. I'm driving it tomorrow, mostly because one of the other agents I talked with today says that the appraisers can tell a deer hit compared to a guardrail compared to a shopping cart/car door. I don't care. I have pictures if they challenge it. So while i'm getting the bumper, light housing, hood and grill fixed, I'll also be getting the shop to fix the dent in the back of my car that I found months ago and just haven't fixed yet because of the need to repaint the whole side of my car. woo hoo.

this week has been busy. and on top of this today i'm ready for the weekend. thanks for asking about everything though. i'm fine, i didn't get hurt at all. just annoyed with the insurance crap.

My car was brought in a week before they actually looked at it. I've been driving this rental for 2 weeks as of tomorrow and the car has been in the shop since February 24th. I feel your pain.

LOL @ state farm thinking some deer fur and blood means that you really hit a deer. Because there's no other way in the world to get ahold of that. *cocks rifle* I kid I kid, I'm no hunter.

mazda will have the parts within 5 days... dealers work fast.

also, we'll have to figure out getting your car covered if it's going to rain...

My brother hit a deer in his car. We took pics of it with the fur and blood on it, then washed it. The adjuster came and looked at the car and pics, then cut the check to total his car. I don't think it is reasonable not to drive the car if its drivable for 72 hours cause their slow to respond.
