I can see maybe 1mpg less with those gears. Nothing crazy though.

yeah, you don't really start getting major mpg decreases until you start hitting 4.10s or higher. Even at 3.90 I'm still getting a pretty decent mpg on the highway. Somewhere in the 22-25mpg range

nah. It's kind of a wash as far as city/highway goes. Yeah you'll drop 1-2 mpg on the highway from turning higher rpms at the same speeds, but around town you'll be able to use your 5th and 6th gears more effectively so it almost negates any decrease you might have had. It all depends on your particular driving style

Look at you with your fancy 6th gear. No wonder you're still pulling great mpg's. Hahaha

I used to run 2,000 rpms doing 80mph. Now 80 runs me about 2200-2250 or so.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love how low it looks, but goddamn I hate pulling in my driveway and plowing rocks out of my way with my bumper. I bet there are even some in my plastic under tray.

Exactly what they said Jim. Not much of a loss for me overall. Actually 4.10s would be great around town, but being that whenever I take the mustang out, there's quite a bit of highway.

Lol, I gotcha. That would definitely suck and be frustrating. I'm not going super low, so I'm hoping not to have issues. And other than my alley and driveway being nothing but pot holes, it's still paved, so it shouldn't be too bad. I don't have any extreme angles to deal with, really. My entrance/exit at work is the closest I'll have to a troublesome angle, and it's not bad.

I was thinking about going with the 4.10s, but i went with the 3.73s instead. cant wait to get the car back and maybe get the rear done before the sonic meet.

edit: its not the sonic meet anymore, the TST spring meet.

That's because it's not at the Sonic anymore?

Jim, I'm calling today to hopefully get something set up for next week. It's pretty much right in West Chester. Let me know if you want it done by them and I will let you leave your car at my place if needed at all.
