im not sure how much we'd need to cover all the area... id almost assume one of those big packs would help alot.
Yes, i think dynamat would help. Would you have any time to talk about it first? I dotn want to go out and buy something without knowing if you can help me install it. Also i want to make sure that it will something you want to do. I dont want to put you out or make this project become a pain.

Yeah, it can get pretty insane with the pricing, but the customers that pay it - know what they're getting. The cosmetic condition of your car accounts for up to 40% of it's value...if you have a 40-50k car...$16,000 of that price can rest on the condition of the paint, wheels, interior and so forth. So paying 4-800 on a proper detail is nothing in regards of retaining your vehicles value. Then the 180-200 maintenance details once or twice a year just keeps the vehicle looking as well as it does after the initial detail.

Real life example that I just reminded myself just now to email the dealer. Brandywine Porsche off of Route 3 has a 997 GT2 in black in their used department with only 3,700 miles on it...when I was there 6 months ago the car was listed for $207k.
I was just in 3 weeks ago, it's down to $183k. I looked at the paint, and it is in worse conditon than the S600 that I just detailed not too long ago (relating it to another black car) and I could tell that standing 10 feet away from it. That can seriously be hindering the sale of the car, I wouldn't in a million years pay $183k for a car that looks like it was washed with brillo pads after 3k miles. So a $400 detail to make $182,600 is an absolute no brainer.

As far as the help, Mikhael helps me when he can, but once I get into a bigger shop and being able to handle more volume I'll definitely be looking for capable assistants. I'll even train people if I have to, but I won't be compromising my quality.

Stretch son, if it hurts, then it means you need to do it more. I need to start working out again.

well ill be honest, it would be my first time attempting it in such a large scale, so perhaps you should seek out a pro audio shop... they'll definitely be more apt to install something like that.

If you want to try it, i am up for doing it. You decide because i dont know whats involved other than taking out the panels in the trunk and then installing the product.

Yeah I know what you are saying it does help for sure. There are so many BMws and high end cars that I look at that are in such ****ty condition and I'm like wow, how can you let your car become like that.

everything in life is a chance. if it doesnt help that would not be your fault. someone on another message board told me that they installed dynamat from front fire wall, under the entire passanger cabin all the way to the trunk and it was not any quieter. so there are mixed opinions everywhere. you have been around subby's a lot longer to me. i will defer to your experience. i am ok with spending the money and will not think any less of you if things aren't "perfect" after wards.

a friend of mine used a ton of it on his forester and it definitely helped... but its not going to completely kill the sound. hes got a straight cut gearset in his transmission tho so its really loud.

here is the other advice " I did the entire floor (from fire wall to trunk) and the rear deck area (read that was source of sound penetration) with raamat. I did it just to dampen road noise, since everything was stock. In the end, I didn't think it was worth the time, money, and effort. I think my expectations were too high, I thought I could achieve BMW like quietness, not even close. My recommendation, it is alot easier to fix the exhaust (slap the old one back on). Plus, getting this crap out of your car is pretty much impossible, so it is an irreversible decision when you put it in. "

I think it might help but i cant do it by myself.

I can imagine it would definately help if your car was stock to deaden the sound, but the louder your exahust gets the little Dynomat would do. That's just my opinion.

Not a problem, it's the least I can offer.

Im old and sensitive. I like the extra power from the modifications but the sound makes me feel like i am driving a race car. If the inside was slightly quieter i would be really happy.
