Well, I took it in...2 weeks or so ago because the brakes were pulsing, the rotors were warped but the pads were fine. So they turned the rotors under warranty, I was driving it this week, and they became even worse so I took it back. They said the rotors need to be replaced, under warranty using Ford OEM parts, which is what I wanted anyway - screw motorcraft parts. Problem is, they don't have any in stock and there was no sense in taking the car off the lift only to put it back on. They should get in today or tomorrow.

I also just had them replace the pads with carbon-ceramics so they are actually worth something.

At least that's all under warranty. My girlfriend's hatch on her Hyundai suv got stuck out of nowhere, so we need to see if that's still under warranty and her power seat on the passengers side. That car is so messed up.

Yeah, the more I reach out the better, there are surprisingly a lot of people out there willing to pay to have their cars done right. Detailing like my own is far and few between, there are definitely guys that do similar detailing around but just for hobby for friends and such. It's still crazy to think that I'm really on the "cheap" side of the spectrum...

I'm sure there's places that charge like $500 yes, but who knows. Again realize some of the people you are getting, people that can throw out the cash.

Some of my details go into the $500 range...and it's still cheap. Comparable shops, that use the same products/methods are seen with prices as high as $2k for a detail....averaging around 800-1k. They're still busy too.

Yes, it is a higher end market, but once I get things rolling, I'll be able to market to everyone. Hopefully even become a retailer of products as well.

I worked out for the first time on Tuesday, it was the first time since May. Well now I cannot extend my elbow out all the way. Looks like I won't be working out to day.

Well I did not know that. You must be very proud of yourself right now, except it's going to catch up to you in the long run if you can't get others to help. Need help by the way?

Last time i lifted i was benching 250lbs and leg pressing 800lbs. I could NEVER break the 250 mark though, that was even doing 3-4 reps of 10

HickRocket - i agree with you on your point that getting a detail from Oakes is not cheap. But for lazy people like myself who do not have a garage, driveway, tools, or time to do a full detail on their car, choose to spend the money to have a pro like Oakes do it for them instead.

I dont think its throwing money around. Its just a trade off which i choose to pay some one else to get something done so i can spend that time caring for my family or just having free time to do nothing. I value my time away from work and consider it precious. Like many things in life its about finding a balance.

dynamat is overpriced. There are other options that are extremely comparable and cheaper
