Yeah, I can't stand the iPhone either. If you're doing anything with business, BB is better all around. The iPhone is cool if you wanna play games and listen to music all day.

Well I've had iphone and blackberry forever and use both side by side. Blackberry is a verizon curve 8330.

Blackberry Cons:
Locked GPS that doesn't work for anything
Tethering prohibited and no hack
App development is in Java only.
Single link to corporate mail only
Very low volume output in headphones
Very slow
BB version of almost every app (weather.com, facebook, etc) is inferior.
Terrible video performance

Blackberry Pro:
Connected via MDS so I have a nice window into my corporate network for all the blackberry apps I'll never write, hooray.
Real keyboard
Upgradeable memory which I upgraded and ended up never using. My micro SD card is 2GB. My iphone has 16GB.... So this is a wash.
Network is awesome

iPhone cons:
Plan price... irrelevant, not paying
phone price... irrelevant, not paying
bad battery life... not much worse than the bb though
no keyboard.. I *think* I can live with this
Network is crap

iPhone pros:
Unlimited talking to marina (I think that's a pro anyway ;)
giant screen
good multitouch
tons of apps
I can develop apps for it with my native skills using monotouch which we already own
I can develop fairly slick webapps in any language for it
jail broken, almost every issue I have with it is solved.

So iPhone seems to make a metric asston of sense for me. And I DO plan to use it for business. Our network and everything we do has bent for the iphone and not the other way around because all the execs have them so there's basically no worries there.

I hate Julie's iPhone. She loves the apps, but in the end it hasn't been a great phone. It freezes, the power button doesn't work right so when it freezes you can't reset it, you gotta wait for the battery to die, she drops call constantly when my old as 8125 doesn't. I'll def stick with Windows Mobile.

And iPhone doesn't support Flash which makes me lol

Locked GPS? My bb has telenav maps, and is AMAZING. Garmin also makes a navigation app that works beautifully. My BB has been tethered to my laptop, although, im on sprint. All of my emails come through my BB, corporate, and personal. Hell, even my comcast email is push to this thing. i've used my BB to output into my mixer when dj'ing one night.

you have a 2gb micro sd card..... you need to step your game up son.

I agree with nick, you must have the wrong blackberry. Ive been using the Tour, and love it.

My BB is buggy sometimes (if I go a month without restarting it or something) but otherwise, I love BB. I was an avid Sidekick user (I LOVED THE KEYBOARD!) but unless Sidekick comes out with something as nice as a BB, I'll never go back!

P.S. I'm pretty sure you can get e-mail from more than one account.. and my BB isn't slow at all.

I have an 8900.. 512 mhz processor.. not sure how "fast" that is, but it doesn't seem slow to me, and I'm a very impatient person, ha.

The Tour, is the best blackberry, the Curve has been the most problematic and underperforming one. Such would be similiar if there were different versions of the iPhone.

Yeah but when work is paying you get the blackberry they choose on the network they choose so the argument is what it is even if it's invalid ;) Verizon arbitrarily limits the GPS (unbelievably). Verizon also prevents tethering. Most of my issues with the blackberry are issues with verizon. I've had issues with AT&T but I'll suck it up to actually be able to do what I want with the device. My point about the card is that I never actually used it up. The media player on the BB is so annoying and poorly thrown together that I never used local media and always just used pandora.

As for the email I can't see any way once it's connected to a BIS to do personal email. I ended up using logicmail for personal imap mail but it's clunky. I'm not ragging on the blackberry. The decision is tough but iphone looks better to me. The blackberry is a different animal once it's assimilated to a corporate blackberry server.

the curve ain't that bad. the only issue i have with mine (besides crappy coverage) is that it likes to reset itself at random

it sounds like all you wanted to do was rag about the blackberry. its known that vzw cripples their phones before they're sent out to the end user. Your blackberry experience is tainted by the verizon networks limitations. use a BB on sprint, and i bet you wont cry the same way about it. Also, what BB were you using? curve or storm?

again, sounds like an issue you're having with the vzw network.

my bb goes through my BES, no issues here.

i get plenty of signal in cities. but, since i live out in the stixs, i get crap for signal.

Hmm I agree that you're probably right, but even with the limitations of VZW removed iphone seems clearly superior to the curve. Probably not the tour or others as Marina had a tough time deciding on the iphone.
