Getting less back then I had anticipated, but I'm still going to get coils for my car. Maybe.

I've been searching high and low for a good deal on lightly used coils for my Jetta. I'd like to buy soon.

Jim, I thought of you due to your avatar today. The new Epic Meal Time has Kevin Smith in it. It's a pretty good episode, too, haha.

Why not just buy a decent set of spring/shocks/struts. Do you plan to adjust it all the time?

Oh, and I got a 2nd interview for tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I get a job offer.

I've also heard bad things about people running lowering springs on stock struts. I don't feel like replacing blown struts 20,000 miles later.

Ha, no problem. I watch them from time to time just because I'm subscribed to their channel and it pops up on my home page or whatever. I don't think they're nearly as funny as they originally were.

As for coils, personally, I just don't want to be stuck with a fixed drop. I want to dial in the height at the front and rear exactly as I want. I am in no way planning on slamming my car and being worried about "fender to ground" measurements and stuff, haha. That and there really isn't a price break for a set of decent springs and dampers.

well thats common sense, you shouldnt do that.

over the years i always see people buy springs because they just want to lower the car a bit, then they get use to it and want to lower it more. its a never ending cycle. just buy quality coils and call it a day

There's a couple reasons that doesn't happen. One, people don't want to listen to other forum members that have "been there and done that." Two, people want instant gratification. They can spend give or take $200 on lowering springs, and get a drop, versus the $1100 or so on a decent set of coilovers.

Agreed 100% and when we put it out there on forums, kids think they're being bullied, or that we're haters.
