My nephew keep telling me to get some form of Crank Brothers set up. I'll get to the shop next week and see what they have for me.

Hammerschmidt
Do want.

The amount of money one would pay to have a smaller 2 speed chain ring with zero shift time, no need to pedal while shifting, and with no chain jump.
I rode it once and I'm sold.

DropTop, need your opinion.

What's a decent 3-ring XC-oriented crankset on the market right now that won't run over $130? Looking for something lighter than my Shimano Deore setup, a bit stronger, and with outboard bearings.

Also, yay/nay? I need a new set of wheels too.

The wheel set looks like a nice build. I'll check for a decent crank at work for under $130. We have a bunch or stuff up on ebay at a good price (lower than out in store price even with shipping.)

As far as the wheels I would take the mavic set.
I am actually selling my set of Crossmax wheels with Maxxis Ignitor tires set up tubeless for $500.

Cranksets we don't have anything in stock right now on sale in that price range. We could order something. For that price range you probably are looking at a base model Truvativ crankset. Maybe find someone selling a stock one that they upgraded.

Ride at the Wiss tomorrow morning 8am. Meet by the Germantown entrance by wissahickon drive and lincoln drive right around rittenhouse. Single speed friendly if you have a set of legs. Dress warm but layered so you can take layers off as the ride accelerates in pace.

we sell trek, gary fisher, fuji, and vicious cycles along with some frame companies. I would be able to give you a comprable bike made by trek or fisher. what kind of riding are you looking at doing? hardtail or full suspension? price rangeN and if you have a preference of components.

DH/FR is a lot to ask for only $500. DH/FR forks usually start around that price.
For like $500 we could get you on a Raleigh Mojave 4.0. I'd have to check and see what kind of Treks or Gary Fishers with disc brakes are in that range.
