I'm bored... I want to go get a better sense of the talon's need for body work, but I feel like i've been intrusive enough on Dave and them at FAST lol. I get the feeling they may just place a claymore in front of the rear door the next time I go pulling up. rofl

Sorry to hear man. Drunk drivers ruin lives.

Julie has been complaining that she wants me to make some more prime rib. Have a feeling thats what we will be eating this weekend.

Yea it's certainly convenient and hold temps amazingly well. Although I did notice that my Maveric et-732 (wireless digital temp probe) is way off. I had a slight freak out session when cooking the ribs. Went to check the temp and it said 330* I put my old school dial oven thermometer inside, let it get up to temp, go check it, the smoker is dead on balls. I'm thinking the digital probe is about 100* off so the 330* was really 230*.

330* would of been charcoal ribs LOL. I really can't wait to go electric. I'm sure the taste difference from coals is minor compared to the conveneice factor.

That was the smoker temp not the meat temp.
Flavor is slightly different then charcoal. The one thing I haven't been able to do in the electric is get a good smoke ring. Smoke flavor is there but no pretty red/pink ring around the edges. Might be because the smoker is newish, and doesn't have enough build up inside? But you really can't beat the convenience. Put some tin foil in the bottom and on top of the wood box, put the meat and wood in, turn the dial to the temp you want, close the door and go about your life. Once done, remove the tin foil and drip pan and your done.

Don't go cheap Jim. You'll just be annoyed later. The masterbuilt units are popular but seem to have a love hate thing about them and are only about $100 less than the smokin-it #1 which is built from 100% stainless steel.

I was considering a Masterbuilt until I saw the one you got. Looks world better in every way. Def worth the extra.

The only cheap electric one I would really consider is the red Brinkman one. Its basically the one we already have with the heating element. Its also only about $80 a Lowes. For that price I'd be willing to take a chance as my $40 Brinkman works great.

I would agree Jay, or just pick up the charcoal one and that electric conversion amazon sells so that way you can run both fire or electric I just wonder how it would do getting up to and holding temps in the winter.

I doubt it would work in winter. Even my Weber grill takes forever to heat up when its sub 40*. I think it took me almost 15 minutes with all 6 burners on high to hit 650*.

I'm trying to decide what to do about the accident, I don't know whether I should have a body shop repair the problems, and then sell the car or whether I should push the dent out as much as I can myself, sell the car and use the insurance money to help buy me a new car. I feel like the second would prove to give a greater amount of money, but I kinda feel like its something that would be looked down upon, either way the solara isn't going to sell for a ton of money, so why spend the insurance money to only increase the worth by a portion? Any input?

If the car needs any work then expect people to lowball the **** out of you. It will also decrease potential buyers by a ton. Most people want to buy and drive... not save a few bucks with a mystery project. Thats just my 2 cents. I'd let insurance do their job.

The Solara market probally isn't like the Honda market where busted turds are accepted as gold.

That's what I'm worried about it will already be hard enough selling a lowered solara, having some dents in it sure wont help either. Although I might get more money in the long run, I don't want to have to be trying to sell my car for 6 months or so, so I guess I should let insurance repair my car, so it'll be a lot less stressful
