Might only read certain types of CDs. Try a regular CD-R first. Older "mp3" CD players sometimes don't play CD-RWs.

No kidding. I used to go autocrossing every month a few years ago until I realized I was paying $50 for less than 5 minutes of "track time." And you were supposed to help somewhere during the event as well!

Granted, it is fun to do... once in a while.
