Trying to rice out my Ruger a bit. Where can I get custom grip panels for it? I found these on eBay but they are kinda corny, I'd like to see what else is out there.

I held one with the Hogue and it's honestly way too thin for my hands.

It really is the perfect light, it strobes, has momentary on if you press the button lightly, and three ( i think, maybe two) different intensity levels.

Are you gonna put it on the AR!??!?! It'll be sweet!

The rifle looks great man, good to see you got some quality optics up top. It pays to spend good money on good gear if for nothing else than resale. Buying good stuff guarantees that you can at least get some money out of it in case of your own personal SHTF scenario. I've been there (recently), it sucks. lol.

If Dave gets you that Strion light then you're set, otherwise I'd look at the PT-2L. I EDC one and I love it. It's small and light, which is always a plus. You'd just have to get a smaller mount that can accept its 0.77" barrel and you're set. It's very bright too. Outdoors it gives a decent spot light out to about 40 yards or so. On its brightest default setting it's pretty much at the limit of anything you'd want to attempt to use indoors. It strobes and also cycles to a dimmer setting too, which is great for indoors so that you don't blind yourself with the light reflecting off of the walls. Also, it's cheap. I bought mine on impulse at Cabela's for like $60 and it came with two batteries.

Ya, I hear you..when i first bought my ar i picked up a cheapy BSA red dot, which did the trick for the mean time, but really was a wast of 75 dollars towards real optics. I should of just bough my mbus first and learned off of iron sights. I begin thinking that if shtf and i have this cheap optic that may be unrelaible, break easy, etc, that is no good.

Eotech for the price cant be beat IMO. I like aimpoints stuff too, but out of my range. I was also looking at Acog's, but for my purpose I went with the eotech for close quarters. Well see how i feel about the magnifier at the range. However, the side flip mount is awesome. However, it might be one more thing that could get hung up rounding a corner or something, so idk...

I sure as hell dont want my gun looking like this...

^^^Most definitely this!!! A wise man once told me it's always good to routinely practice with your carry ammo because you never know when it could possibly fail. I never put much thought into it until I took my UCII to the range one day with hollowpoints and had about 5 fail to feeds. Narrowed it down to the magazines not bringing the rounds high enough to clear the bottom of the ramp and threw those bitches in the trash.

So if I keep one chambered, I should leave it there or rotate?

If you keep one chambered it's good practice to rotate it through the mag so that you don't have the same round always being chambered. It's also good practice to take that same magazine of personal protection ammo to the range and fire it. Then reload the magazine with fresh ammo when you're done. Because you never know when one of those rounds might not agree with your gun or vice versa.

Well, since Dave has hooked me up again with the Stream Light Flashlight, I just placed the order on the mount and some ranger plates..

Once I figure out what stock I want, she will be done for a long while..

Thanks again Dave, in debt to you once more

Guess the pea shooters?
