Been emailing a few different people and i think me and Andy from R/T were able to work something out. Hes just going to e-tune the car for me so i dont have to go there/pay to get on the dyno and all that stuff. We're going to change to a manual boost controller as well. So, so far i have a cob iwg bracket, grimmspeed mbc, and grimmspeed uppipe/turbosmart wastegate waiting to be installed next week :D

My main reason is an ebcs coupled with a ewg sounds like doo-doo haha you get what sounds like really bad compressor surge. Ewg has its advantages as well but the sound is my main reason truthfully.

I miss my open dump in my Srt do damn bad! I had a turbonetics mbc and it was pure heaven.... Then I could open up my electronic down pipe and it was like god was yelling at Satan!

Hey Kevin,

Since your last appointment we instituted a customer supplied parts labor rate that is higher than our standard labor rate. We evaluated our policy of installing customer supplied parts in general and decided to continue installing customer supplied parts but the labor rate had to be increased to cover the liability of some of the parts that are brought in by customers.
Our standard labor rate raised from $95 per hour to $105 per hour to be in line with what other reputable shops are charging. You and many other TST members have been here and seen our operation and our professionalism and I'm sure you understand that it takes a lot of money to operate a shop of this size and be able to carry the liability of modifying cars in the way we do.

If our labor rate is scaring you away, give me a call and I'll see what I can do for you to get you taken care of. You have been a great customer so far and I'd like to keep you here with us.

Yea Erik I didn't know it was strictly for customer supplied parts. And truthfully 130/hr is just a little too much for me when it ups the price of the install almost $100. I in no way meant anything bad about the shop and I understand it can't be cheap to stay running. I talked with Andy and we were able to work out a plan to get everything done in what I think is a very fair manner. So it worked out after all. And I've been a good customer because you guys treated me well so as long as I can afford to I will keep coming back.

Uppipe and wastegate are installed, iwg bracket and manual boost controller will be here Tuesday and I'm hoping the tune will be finalized by Wednesday/Thursday :D

No worries glad Andy was able to work out some things to keep you up and going. All good shops should be able to adjust somewhat to make their customers happy! You guys are the ones who keep our lights on ;)

Got the iwg bracket and grimmpseed boost controller installed today. WOW this thing is loud haha. Sent Andy some logs tonight so hopefully over the next day or two we'll get the tune finalized. Everything is running great though, i love the set up. Will be posting a short, crappy video soon :D

Little update, ive been working with Andy from R/T tuning over the last 24 hours and we got the car running perfect at 20.5psi. Tomorrow morning hes gonna send me a new map hoping to sneak a few extra horsepower with the new EWG :D Might try to make a little video over the weekend if i can find some time.

haha figured thats what you meant, i dont remember if i linked it but Ryan@area1320 sent me an awesome thread that compared the sounds of the two. I would have been pissed if he didnt warn me and i stayed ebcs :P

This is the direction i'm heading with my car. I just need the funds. I already have a grimmspeed MBC. I want to get a process west tmic, and then have ryan (area1320) make up an EWG for me. I'm excited. The only difference between my car and yours is i'll still be running the stock vf52 and your on the dom1.5xtr

I've thought about going EWG on stock turbo as well. I keep getting boost creep / overboost issues in the colder weather, and it seems the best remedy for it is to go EWG, plus it will net me some extra powahh.

my car was over boosting/creeping when i got it back from r/t. It was fine on the dyno but when it got under some real load in 3rd-4th it would creep pretty bad. Andy had to really lower the WGDC to get it safe and reccomended the EWG since it was really the only way to fix it completely. Runs PERFECT now :D
