I can't decide if I want to put away $500 a month for the next 12 months to afford a 265whp turbo kit + 3" turbo-back exhaust from Flyin Miata or spend $500 a month for the next 12 months on other stuff like a rollbar, turbo-compatible header, race radiator upgrade, coolant re-route kit, clutch and lightweight flywheel, Lotus Exige seats, harnesses, front lip, etc etc ****...damn decisions.

BEGI is way cheaper than that... Only kit I see on FM close to 6k is the one that uses Hydra. Why not use Megasquirt? Or just get the ls1 swap kit and avoid all the issues you'll run into with a turbo setup.

The Begi kits are nice, but I just don't want to go with them. The FM2 kit sticks out as being the highest-quality. Hard water/oil feed lines, 750cc injectors with clips for plug-n-play, ceramic coated manifold and turbine housing/outlet, Stage 8 hardware to prevent bolts from ever coming loose, larger intercooler, full 3" exhaust...all the options are laid out right there to pick and choose from. I'll probably go with the 3071 which I heard doesn't spool til about 4,000 but makes ridiculous power. Somewhere around 300whp.

V8 swap would be nice but would be way too much work and fabrication and time that I just don't have to let my car be undrivable. The FM2 should hold me over until that day where I can afford a V8 swap lol.

Oh and Hydra, it's $2100 separately, whereas MS PNP is like $700. Why? These reasons:
"On-board datalogging, launch control, water injection control, staged injectors, individual fuel and ignition trim for each cylinder...the list goes on. The integrated wideband O2 sensor allows the ECU to run closed-loop fuel control even at high boost levels, and the autotuning will dial in your fuel delivery quickly and easily. We`ve seen horsepower gains across the board even when compared to other full ECUs. All Hydras come pre-programmed by us for your car`s specifications. This base map is based on hundreds of dyno runs, customer feedback from all over the country and the experience that comes from offering remote tuning support for over a decade. Your car will fire, run happily and start autotuning right away. It will be a little conservative so your engine is safe, though. The package includes all sensors needed. You don`t need a separate box for knock sensing, or a different wideband sensor. It`s complete"

Except the electronic boost control solenoid. It's $52 ;)

FM2 turbo kit ftw. If not next year, definitely 2012.

You used Gary's car as an example. I said it took forever to build, which isn't criticism.

I don't want to spend a long time building a car.

That's all.

I've had my car for a year. It's pretty built up. If I put all my JDM bling towards power I'd have a 700+WHP monster.

I dunno. I don't have a need for DSM. Not my cup of insert-drink-here.

If I had a steady career going, I'd take a loan out for a V8 swap, but I don't. And I'm not building a used V8. I'd want new everything. I just have high standards or no standards. None of that in-between bull****.
