sorry to hear that jim, i imagine you don't want to hear this, but i've always found it best to try and turn negativity and anger into more positive things. It's much easier said then done, but it sure makes life much more pleasant.
i need to smoke some meat.

in a smoker i would imagine wings and legs being ok on the grates, but that could be handy for grilling if you can't keep your eye on the grill.

i've taken the water tray out and finished some stuff on the lower shelf of my smoker with the direct heat from the left over coals.

oh jay, they had a charbroil 30" electric smoker at the home depot out by me for $89, it's the floor model and is missing the power cord. But i imagine you can find one of them somewhere. It's list price is $179.

sorry it was a masterbuilt, like this one. 30" Masterbuilt smoker

I gotta go online and find out how much the part is. Might be a great deal even though I scared of anything Charbroil. My past experiences were always bad.

it's actually a masterbuilt not a charbroil (unless they are the same company)

Out hunting today. Some knucklehead is about 40 yards from me makes enough noise Helen Keller could hear and see him.

My dad would drink like 8 cups of coffee and then pee in the woods and wonder why there was no deer.

so apparently i started a big fiasco at work when i asked for those days off. My boss has meet with nearly everyone she can to figure out why i have "so many days" left. the HR lady told me that I had 38 days (or there abouts) going into 2011. Every year we are given 2 weeks off. I took 2 weeks off in 2011 and got paid out 2 weeks. This year (2012) I have only taken 2 weeks off. So I should have at least one week left if not actually more.

guess i will be calling back my friend that had a job offer for me. just need to see how much of a pay cut it might be. It's much closer to home though.

I'd def be looking into another job. Its hard to be motivated ever again after a boss acts like that. I'm in that senario right now.

Having a job close to home is def worth a decent pay cut. My new commute is 1/2 what it used to be. Granted I'm still at my current job but our living expenses did go up so its a slight pay cut when you think about it. Plus we send a ton more money since we are much closer to friends now(I checked my bank statement and I spend over $700 is just steaks, scallops, ect hosting people in the last 2 months). I also gained 4 delicious lbs.

your boss needs to chill the **** out. happy employees are hard working employees. I don't understand why management ****s on their front line.

Too many places promote people who are good at their jobs but have no sense of how to manage. They are 2 completely different skill sets and people rarely have both.

the people that get promoted are the ones that don't do their job well, but aren't horrible enough to be fired. so they're moved to a position where they don't have a direct hand in whatever it is they're managing. This leaves the people who are good at their job to stagnate and end up hating their job.

at least, that's been my experience.

Absolutely.

I enjoy my job, but there are many things that have led me to have almost no motivation in merely two years. No appreciation or reward for being a good, hard working employee, and no acknowledgement of my actual skill set.

There are many pros, though, as well. Therefore I keep pushing forward trying to gain as much experience and field knowledge as possible.
