redlined it today nothing. but my car likes to destroy turbos. i took off the hot pipe and intake to see if anything was loose cause im making this annoying ass sound and found out my new turbo has shaft play.

That sure does sound like rod knock, but there is a chance it might not be.

What does it sound like on cold start up?

What does it sound like under a load?

Have you drained the oil yet to look for metal shavings?

I'm not big on the nissans, but do they have hydrolic lifters, or are they adjustable? Its possible that you vibrated a lock nut loose and its tapping like crazy, i've seen it before on motors that have been miss shifted and over revved and had a knock, ended up just being a loose lifter. Can't hurt to pull the VC and take a look.

Also if you get really into it, you can drop the pan and pull of the caps and see if a bearing did truly spin.

Hydrolic, over reving them just throws the rocker arm, hence the popularity of rocker arm stoppers.

everything in the head is fine. inspected that on weds. retourqed the bolts and such. ive norrowed down the knock to the 4th cylinder. wouldnt be surprised if this caused it...

thats a wire that leads to the coilpack for cylinder 4...found that putting the new turbo on. had like 1 strand left.

Have you bled your lifters? My friend did a cam install this weekend, and his was knocking really bad. He found out 6 out of 8 lifters needed to be bled.

sounds to me like the car is suffering from oil starvation wether is oilpump failure or something else internally. thats explains the engine damage and the fact you are going through turbos.

^thats fixed. and the timing was off. but now the car feels like its a 20sec 1/4 car. i hate it. but love the fire balls haha. it seems like im not getting very much oil pressure. my dummy light dimmly lights when idling.

Get a damn oil press. gauges. If it's less than 14psi at idle you have serious issues.

but seriously... if this were me... id get a whole new motor and harness... cause **** messing around with a wiring nightmare and a bad motor.
