Need a faster lens. F2.8 for handheld night shots with at least a decent amount of light. If you want to get started cheap, get the Canon F2.8 50mm prime lens. It's like $75 and has awesome optics. It was my go to lens until I could afford my sigma.

A lot of these were shot with that 50mm lens to give you an idea of the possibilities at night you get.

I know there's a 50mm 1.8 that is really cheap..
