pick these two gems up from a widow whos husband owned them. first one is a ww1 1914 double stamp 1920 p08 luger fully number matching with holster and one matching magazine. the second one is a walther p38 byf43 all numbers matching, it was in a u.s. holster when i got it. hope you guys enjoy.















and here is my luger with my fathers ww2 luger that my grandfather brought back from ww2, killed a german official on d day while entering a bunker, he cut him inhalf with a thompson. it was nickel finished during ww2, it is all matching numbers.

I might have asked before but I need a holster recomendation for my Glock 19. I'd prefer something I can wear a t-shirt over so a belt holster for the side with a finished barrel piece so it can hang out and still be concealed.

You need to decide between IWB (inside-the-waistband) or OWB (outside-the-waistband) before anyone can give you suggestions.

As for a "finished barrel piece so it can hang out and still be concealed" I have absolutely no idea wtf you're talking about.

But I will recommend the holsters I currently use for my Glock 19 everyday. They're made of kydex and have excellent retention and make one handed re-holstering a breeze. They're very durable and also easy to clean. Check out www.atomicdogholsters.com or look up ARMORdillo Concealment on Facebook. Basically the same holsters just Atomic Dog takes like 4 months where as ARMORdillo takes roughly 3-4 weeks. Both will also customize it to your liking such as: cant, color, belt loop size & also both can be made to work OWB or IWB just by purchasing different belt loops.

Bad idea. There's a reason they don't make holsters like that and it's because with a closed muzzle end, lint, fuzz, dirt, dust and anything else that finds it's way into the holster will eventually find it's way right into the end of your barrel (possibly leading to a jam, or worse).

Holsters are open at the muzzle end so that any dirt that gets in there falls out the hole and doesn't get shoved into your barrel.

There's plenty of holsters out on the market that are closed. I have a few of them and never once has anything found its way in there in the 12+ years I've been carrying. Mainly due to the fact that the guns fit so tight inside of them there isn't much room for anything else. Also if you're not visually inspecting your equipment every day when you put it on well then you're just asking for something bad to happen.

Alex - look at ADH like Munky mentioned if you want an outside waistband concealable holster, or my personal favorite, Comp-Tac MTAC if you want an IWB holster, which I suspect you do. I hear others from Comp-Tac work well as well and I also hear that Crossbreed makes a great option with the super tuck. I've had nothing but the absolute best experience with my MTAC and honestly unless they go out of business I won't own another brand or model inside-waistband holster for any gun.

FWIW, my MTAC is the "slide" model, meaning that it fits any size M&P in 9 or 40 - Compact, Full Size, or Pro. They cut it for the compact to be completely hidden inside like the first pic shows, and then the FS and Pro models have their barrels protruding. Some people say that when carrying a larger barreled gun in a 'slide' holster it's possible to push the protruding barrel upward as you sit down and lift the gun out of the holster (which is obviously NOT good) and they would rather have the barrel completely covered. Me? I've carried my compact and a full size M&P in my slide MTAC and never had a problem with either.

My DeSantis Cozy Partner is completely covered as I think you were trying to explain that you wanted. I never once found a reason to want a completely covered muzzle, but then again I also never found a reason to not want it. rodder is right that it's possible to collect dirt and debris in the end of it, but I think that cleaning a holster is just as important as cleaning the firearm itself. I usually remove the gun and give the holster a quick wipe out before I tuck it for the day, regardless of what style of holster I've used.

It's all personal preference.

Alex, if you are looking for a top quality IWB holster, check out the Tennessee Holster Company. Very easy to re-hoslter with one hand and the leather is very high quality. They have been hand-making holsters since the 1800's, so you are def getting a good product.

Here is your Glock in one of their IWB's. They also make OWB's and Versa holsters.

Brian I really like that one you put up. My only problem with IWB is its hard to sit with it on. I need something where I can keep the gun on me if im walking, sitting, driving, whatever else.

I know I've read what I wrote somewhere before, and it must have been a reasonably authoritative source for me to have repeated it like that but if you've been living this theory for years and never had a problem, maybe it's just an old wives' tale sort of thing.

Of course the devil's advocate in me would say with an open muzzle end there may be an even better chance of getting something lodged in the barrel than had the holster been closed.

All the holsters I use are kind of a hybrid, I guess. They cover the barrel and slide completely but still have a small opening at the bottom. Makes them super easy to clean if nothing else.

Alex, what you're asking for may not be possible with a full-size pistol. I'm 6' tall, 165 lbs with a slim frame and there is just simply no way for me to carry a full size pistol IWB comfortably. When I do carry my .45 I carry it in a galco concealable OWB, usually with a sweatshirt or something over it.

That's exactly the reason I bought my LCP. It disappears right into my front pocket and I barely even notice it's there. Only downside to pocket carry is it makes drawing from a seated position difficult, especially in a car.

If you're serious about carrying, I'd buy a slim and compact 9mm with something like a crossbreed IWB. You shouldn't have a problem carrying IWB with the right size gun.

me too...lol. ever since i sold my standard fixed stock romanian AK-47, ive been wanting to pick one back up. same with my M4 and 1911..... i miss those.

Just depends on where you place it. I wear mine at 4:00 and my XDM, which is much bigger than your glock, disappears. Also, if you truly want to conceal your gun, especially in the summertime, you will need to go with an IWB.

The highlighted statement is one of the main reasons I don't like holsters that leave the barrel end completely open/exposed. When I first got my Glock the guy gave me a "slide" style holster where pretty much the only part of the gun that was covered was the area around the trigger. It didn't take more than 1-2 days before I boogered up the front of the slide/barrel as I took a corner too tight at work and smacked it into a wall. Ever since that day I always bought holsters that cover the barrel end. Also a point to note...I was wearing the Glock IWB when I boogered it up.
