I've only been in the state of MD for a month and I'm already being questioned by the police. Long story short, someone lost $100, and since I work in the hospitals EVS department, i'm the one who is being questioned. Oh well, I didn't take the money, not worried. Just waiting on the day where the **** who flipped out, spilling her lunch and drink all over the place, to get her ass fired. Gonna be great when she does.

I haven't even eaten yet. I had to work from 7-3 today, and it was absolutely dead at work. I'm hungry, and looking forward to stuffing my face with turkey.

I can't believe how motivated/productive I am after a long break. I personally think I should take 1 out of every 4 weeks off. I bet you I'd get more done in the long run.

people are way over worked, in a lot of cases. I don't need the time off, I just need appreciation.

you nailed it ken,
so as of last year my company made a new rule that if you don't use your vacation time you lose it. No problem! I went to my boss today, I told her that my paycheck says i have 46 hours of vacation time left, these are the days I want to take off since i will lose them otherwise. So she gets all huffy and pulls out a calendar and starts counting the days i had off cause she feels i took to many days off already. then says that she will get back to me because she doesn't think this is right. I didn't really care about the days before,I just didn't want to lose a weeks pay (in essence) and was going to try and be co-operative about when i take them, but **** that now. you're gonna get all huffy about me trying to use something that i rightfully worked for to earn?

My job also makes it seem like they are doing you a favor when you use something you earned. I don't care who I have to screw to use my time LOL

i, often, don't take my full vacation time... fortunately everywhere i've worked has been quite awesome about using it. I had two weeks off at the end of the year a few years back. it was so hard going back to work after a 2 week staycation where i did nothing productive.

so many people in management just care about the bottom line, but not the people that make that **** happen. you're just another body...

it makes me want to get out of the industry.

i had already talked to our HR lady to confirm the amount of time was accurate before going to my boss. This side of my boss has only recently become apparent to me. Ever since the storm I noticed a sudden lack in compassion for people, her employees. It's sad, I used to enjoy working for her. Think i might have to look into the offer i was given before the holidays a bit more closely.

Monthly paychecks are such a PITA... just thought I'd throw that out there.

maybe something bad happened to her or her family. if there was a sudden change in her attitude it sounds like something may have happened.

thankfully they made it thru the storm rather well. I think this change was more gradual, but i just happened to remain within the buffer until recently. whatever it is I don't need to spend anymore of my time on it i just gotta deal with it. We'll see what she says, I know she already talked to HR, I think she then went to the operations manager. It amuses me how much time she is spending making a fuss out of this.
