So I got my HKS SSQV3 today.

I'm going to try to run it VTA. I called my tuner and he said that some X's can run VTA while some cannot. If I cannot then my car will go into limp mode.

Why run it VTA? Everyone with a SSQV runs it vented to atmosphere and it's basically like a "hey look at me, I bought the most common BOV ever!"

Regardless, if you're MAP sensor, you should be able to vent to atmosphere since the motor is measuring air after the BOV.

If you're MAF sensor then you might have stalling issues when the BOV opens which could be enough to make it go into limp mode.

Autocrossers do have a lot of skills though, there's no denying that.
I hit 50 easily in an auto mustang every event.
It seems pointless because you don't have the balls to try it. After all the trash talking you've done, even if you wanted to try it, you wouldn't. Man up and bRing out one of your cars. BMWs are great handling cars, you act like you can drive, so show us.

Though, if I felt the need to do some awesome grip driving I would just go hit the twisties - which isn't as risky as street drifting.

And You agreed with my whole, Autocross is for people too poor to run on a road course.

Actually, you can.

It's called being smart and knowing your limits. You're assuming that someone with no prior grip driving experience would go out on a road course and try to go as fast as possible, which would be dumb and only and idiot would do.

As far as the porn analogy, I don't really get it? If I've got the build and skills to do porn, why would I need to smack my junk around in a mirror? Shouldn't I be out honing my skills with various female companions?
Wow another retarded comment. Jetro is so dangerous compared to hitting up some nice roads. What's the worst that can't happen, you hit a guard rail? Hit one of the 10 poles? Or you can go out on a 30 ft wide road that is lined with trees and ditches.

You've never drifted a real event but you think you can drift? So how about you go out and actually run an event. It's a lot different when you are on a course.
People that have never driven their car on a track or course and think they know how to drive are wrong. Cause Id put money on the fact that an instructor could beat you with your own car.

I have tons more to say. But my break at work is over.

Look at that mustang though, and then look at what I drive. Nothing I have is fast enough to really accelerate quickly in such a small area.

I've considered driving autocross, and it's not really a balls thing as much as a time and money thing. Though, now that I have a helmet, I should come out and drive.

Btw, auto-crossing my BMW would be stupid at best. E46 subframes are known to have issues which I believe mine does from when I crashed it in the winter. I'm not trying to do anymore damage to a car that I owe more than 12-13k on.

I wasn't talking about Jetro.

It shows how much you know. I haven't slid Jetro since last year, it's not my spot to mess up.

I was talking about sliding street turns which is how I crashed the BMW over the winter.

Have you never read anything I've recently written about my drifting?

I make it blatantly obvious that I still suck. I don't have enough real seat time to have any legitimate experience.

There's no doubt in my mind that an instructor can out drive me in my own car, I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here.

I'm not entirely sure why you wrote the above post in such a malicious tone either. I was stating my opinions on autocross, and though I may have used my usual matter-of-fact tone, they're still opinions.

"Autocross is awesome" is an opinion.

For the record, I Suck at Drifting, and I also Suck at Driving.

Also, how about we let this argument die now, because I'd rather not see this get anymore personal than you've already made it.

That was John Michael.

Though it seems that I have to drive autocross now, or else I'm not allowed to have an opinion on the subject. If I can get some front tires that are the correct sizes I might have to bring the 240 out on the 27th, which I believe is this Sunday.

And I'd suggest you not support me in this forum. It's just asking for trouble.

Gabe: You gotta understand that here we are all personal b/c in real life we are all good friends. For instance: Ciotti and Dustin while they have a difference of a opinion on TST we are all very close in real life. If you knew how close we really are trust me you would understand. For instance if I was to say I'm a drifter I know of at least 5 people that would call me out on it. Steve, JM, Kawi, James & Dustin they practicially built my 240.

Doesn't matter how you drive. What I will say about the people that auto-x is that they are very willing to help and explain to you things about their cars and they are very educated. I was talking to a guy that had a 240 with a KA-T and he was very helpful in explaining to me the rules of auto-x and different classes.

^ nice! As long as people are nice and helpful and don't make fun of people that don't really know quite what they're doing, I'll be comfortable. Otherwise I might be turned off to the whole autox thing. I guess it depends on the crowd of the particular venue. I'd most likely be hitting up Englishtown or ATCO or NJMP for track days/autox.

I know it's been said before but I need to stress again that by buying all that stuff before you go to an autocross or track day is pretty much guarantee that you will A: need to rebuy parts to dial the car in properly and B: get put into a class where you have no chance at being competitive where you will get destroyed until you change the car setup and either remove parts or buy different parts to replace ones that you've already bought.

If you know that you're gonna autocross you owe it to yourself to check it out before you dump money into parts that you may not be able to/want to use when you finally autocross.

I made this same mistake and couldn't bring myself to pay for stock parts again that I had thrown away and the labor to have them installed and other mods cut off the car to fit into a class where I could be competitive so I've always been stuck in a class where I don't really belong which is SUPER frustrating.

Our region (South Jersey SCCA) is who Ricky is talking about, we're know as the laid back fun region where everyone is there to help out and have a good time more than anything else. A lot of the other regions are very competitive and take it awful serious which rubs a lot of new comers the wrong way. We're also the only region that gets everyone 8+ runs per events vs their 3 or 4 so for new comers you learn a lot faster and for us veterans we just get more chances to dial in our perfect run
