you can pretty much get a 350 for free anymore. couple grand could get you a 454 that needs a rebuild, then you've got a motor that you can learn to wrench on... which would be a sweet project at your age

save your money for a motor swap...305s run out of steam around 5000rpm

although I do remember this article from a long time ago from when I was looking at old Camaros, just keep in mind the motor they are talking about has fuel injection: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...cks/index.html

I had a 305 in my first car which was a '91 camaro. Those things are dogs but it's a good first car.

Chevy 350 with a 400 crank. Motor is fine and still in the car. Just looking to do another motor for boost. Its a fully forged bottom end, Callies crank, Iron Eagle heads, etc. The motor runs great but I need to go faster! Motor has been 10.2's (motor only, no nitrous) on 93 pump in my car.

If you don't mind me asking what are your stats? Like car weight, mph on quarter mile, wheels hp, crank hp, how good did you hook up on the quarter mile when you ran the 10.2? Thanks for the answers.
