while touring with my band we drove 16 hours from like virginia beach to somewhere in kentucky. Overall, figure 2 weeks of driving from between mississippi and vermont. As for just myself driving ,i'd say from the poconos to washington dc and then 3 hrs of being lost in dc.

The longest I did in one day was Atlanta GA to Keyser, WV. 678 Miles on I-75 North to I-81 North then took some back roads in VA and WV oto get to Keyser. It was 678 miles with stops only to pee, get gas, and grab some fast food at a drive through. I averaged 70+ MPH including the stops.

I also did most of the drive form Easton, PA to St. Louis MO in one day. I don't remember how many miles that was. I stopped somewhere in Illinois in some small town off the interstate that wasn't memorable. On the way back, I stopped for gas in a small town in PA. They had the old style mechanical gas pumps that I remember some small towns having when I was a young child. I went in and asked if they take credit cards. The lady at the counter said, "We may be back woods, but we ain't that back woods." Then she took out one of those old carbon copy inpression machines to take an imprint of my card on that three layer duplicating paper. It apparently worked because my credit card got billed for $20 worth of gas 2 months later.

Carlisle, PA to New Orleans. About 1115 miles. The trip down was split between a few drivers and 2 days. The return trip...hungover and done by 1 driver in 1 shot.

The longest I personally have driven in one day was (most) of the PA turnpike and back

Mine was one of about four:

First being the one Cal is posting about (though I was riding not driving)
Second - I went to high school in New Hampshire so I had to drive from a-town to there (or back) every few months.
Third - Carlisle to Montreal and back 4 hours later in college. That one was awesome
Fourth I was a passenger but New Orleans to Carlisle... non-stop... 20 some hours.
but the longest which I drove the whole way was Doylestown to Hilton Head, South Carolina- straight through

Driving myself:

Going from Nazareth PA to Gaithersburg MD with Ender81's transmission in the back going to get PPG's installed.

Also went from Nazareth PA to Mansfield PA which is a 3 hour ride to visit someone.

Pretty wimpy compared to everyone else.

Not driving:

I've gone from PA to Maine and West Virginia.

****fire, I forgot about the Montreal insanity. I guess that was pretty much a there and back, even though we spent a few hours in the city. We should probably do a retrospective post on our blog lol

As for New Orleans, yes you were in the car (early 2000's jetta, not great for 4 grown men) for the straight shot return trip, but I was the only one who stayed awake for the whole time besides our hungover, cracked out on adderall (legally), and sleep deprived driver. Because I was too terrified to sleep. Oh well I guess you were actually awake for the last couple hours after he had taken out one of his contacts cause it was bothering him.

The longest straight shot trip I've done in the Rex was from Allentown to northern Massachusetts, about 350-400 miles; took about 7 hours.

That being said, I've done plenty of shorter trips, racking up 75K+ in 3 years

Here is your chance to do a long ass trip: http://www.baberally.com/index.esp
BABE Rally. Big Apple to Big Easy. Snag a vehicle for $500 or less and on your way!

I did it a couple years ago and did New Orleans to South Jersey (all 1300 miles) in one day in a convoy split between the front seat of a Miata, front seat of a mid 80's Stang and the back seat of an 80's Saab 900 with 2-3 other people.

Also I did Doylestown to Montreal by myself last May. Drove up on Friday morning and drove home on Sunday morning.

the longest trip i have ever driven by myself in my MSP was from montgomeryville, pa to connecticut, trip there took only about 2hr 50mins, but the trip home, i got super lost somehow in back roads and ended up taking me 6 hours to get home... haha.

i drove my mom's SUV from south jersey to boston for a tour show after our van crapped out on us...that was fun.
