Subaru's arent 50/50... I think most AWD systems are rear biased.
In this vid though, the front wheels just arent spinning at all at points while the rears are... its more than just 'limited slipping' going on.

Pretty sure both of these cars are former kaizo cars that have somehow either escaped, or not yet been ascertained by the government. When I had to pick up a windshield for my friend's r32 a while ago I am fairly positive on seeing both of these cars there. I wasn't paying too close of attention and time has passed so I could have them mistaken.

Regardless, that video was pretty embarrassing. Sure, you have a car that some people consider cool but it's pretty lame if you can barely drive it. I wouldn't want video of my first time ever sliding a car floating around the internet either.

For the person that asked about the torque split on the gt-r awd-- in layman's terms the power is not transferred to the front wheels until the rear wheels experience slip. But the computer is rather fragile and dumb, and tends to miss-communicate in anything but dry conditions. I think Nissan claimed they upgraded the computer and electronics from the r32 and r33 in the r34; but from my experience an r34 gt-r still has the same weird tings as an r32 gt-r, but upgraded differentials. So in essence, as the car launches all four wheels are powered; as the car accelerates and increases in velocity all four wheels are powered; but once velocity is maintained (although acceleration can still occur) it switches to rwd.

I love the misinformation skyline threads always bring.

I said "typical manual Subarus".

I didn't say Subaru automatics or DCCD equipped cars.
Those are typically set-up with a RWD-biased split of 45-55 split in automatics and 41-59 in the DCCD 6speed.

The 34 is a gtr, think the black one also.. A Gtr has rear quarter flared out a Gts does not. I'm pretty sure I met the former owner of the 34 was my buddy's friend, looked way better 3years ago. Rims, hood, wing have changed since then(might have a pic somewhere), if memory serves it was a lm/ V-spec and it went thru motorex. (was looking to sell it, probably did minus parts)
That night was COLD, but saw the R34 and a Supra lined up at a stop light

Well, I can't have a Suzuki Jimny, they are only made and sold overseas.

They, like skylines are also slow from the factory. The majority of people think that skylines are faster than ferraris from the factory. But in reality just like that Jimny, they are slow until you dump mad money into them.

Apparently you aren't gettin the point I was making.
And comparing the power of a Skyline to a power of a Jimny is laughable too.

Why wouldn't we hear about them? We have WRX's and Evos in the states, and I have to read 10 threads about them everyday. Why wouldn't we hear about Skylines if they were here in the states too? They are absolutely amazing performance cars.

Skylines are probably talked about more in countries they are available in.

Most people here don't know much about them, as this thread has shown.

Lol.
Only 96-98 R33's are federally legal.
State legal is another story.

That is why the east coast is getting an influx of R32's and R34's.
The Govt. is only looking for them on the West coast right now.

Sweet vid btw.

Whoever thinks Skylines aren't "GODLIKE" obviously has no idea of the billions of accolades the Skyline GT-R has achieved over the years. For example, being the first production car to achieve an 8 minute run on the 'ring. Oh yea, and also being kicked out/outlawed from various touring car series races from all over the world because teams using Skyline GT-Rs would always come in 1st or 2nd place. Face it, the reason why the Skyline is so popular isn't because it's not available in the States. The car has made a name for itself in the past two decades and that's why people want one. Essentially, yes, it is "GODLIKE."

Awesome video, by the way.
