Need Another School Lesson: Computer Help plz... CONFUSED lol

ok so now Im confused. I put my Windows XP disk, reboot (so it boots from the CD) but it goes into some kind of DR DOS (MS DOS basically) and doesn't let me go anywhere. I try typing in the command to boot from the disk but it doesn't reconize it.

If I try to boot without the disk, it is the same scenario as before... nothing has changed after getting rid of the trojan mentioned above

put it into my own computer, and run the drive, it comes up how it should asking what you want to do (install windows, etc...)

but if I cant get into my dads OS how am I supposed to run the disk lol

well turns out I have to find a real XP disk because the one I have is.. well... you know lol

Michelle brought over her copy and I got the key from the I386 folder

bypassed the activation through the registry editor and some other windows update turnoffery...

computer is running fine now, just have to work out some bugs.

1) when i install avg it doesn't start up with the computer and is nowhere to be found after wards.. I watch it finish but it doesn't come up
2) when I try to install office 2007 enterprise blue edition it gives me some error about needed something greater than installer 3.1? I'll have to get the exact message tomorrow

other than that things are ok for now.

alright so I dunno if anyone is paying attention but I'll update just to keep things current

I took care of the office 2007 problem.

The only problems I am having now are:

- no audio. tried installing the drivers to no avail.. there's no speaker icon in the bottom right of the task bar
- i found my dads digital camera software but i cant get it to work right.... but i have my ways around it lol

anyways. it's always the little stuff. computer needs more ram lol
