this is untrue. and it is a common misconception because its rarely enforced. 70% is basically factory tint plus or minus a few %. there is a very slight tint from the factory due to being tempered glass. as for rear windows that only applies to vans, trucks, SUVs etc. but all anyone seems to care about is the front windows when they enforce it (believe me, i looked into it thoroughly when i got my last ticket because i thought it was unfair).
