My first time at the track ever I still managed to hit my target time of 14.5 (e-town). If you have a realistic goal in mind, you'll hit it no problem.

what are you launching at? I suggest around 2200, the tricky thing is launching this car, I used to be good at it when I cared about 1/4 mile times...

mainly remember though if you're really trying to get solid 1/4 times **** the R/T....it doesn't count against your time.

yeah im usally launch anywhere from 2500 to 3k. but with the clutch in the car that has almost instand engagement, no more than 3 should be good.

IMHO that's a little high and you'll spin too much, but what you could always do is try 2500 on your first run and then decide weather you need to drop the RPM's or raise them depending on how much you're spinning.

Just a tip I was at cecil a few weeks ago and if you get there when the gates open you can get a good amount of runs in. Last time I think me and my buddys got like 6 runs in. There was alot of people there too. Its a pretty "hick" area down there and you can go around the water pit. Also dont try to time the R/T and stuff. Your quarter mile time starts when you move not when the light goes green. I saw guys sitting there for like 5 seconds and then taking off. Also if your bringing stuff with you I recommend bringing a car to store stuff in while you guys are running. Ive seen stuff get stolen down there way too many times. Good luck and post some times when you get back.

I didn't know this my first time out a few years back and I hit my brakes as soon as I passed the boards. When I seen my time slip was a 15.1 I was really dissapointed until someone told me that I hit the brakes way to early.

so my first time running at the track, we didnt leave untl 730 as something came up so we got there around 9, place was packed and only managed to get one run in the time i was there. but still none the less, i learned alot about.
so now my time slip,

r/t .985
60' 2.815
330 7.340
1/8 10.861
mph 71.29
1000 13.857
1/4 16.379
mph 90.00

so my launch totally killed it. i dropped clutch from 2500 rpm and my car just wheel hopped hardcore, the vibration actually knocked the car into neutral. so from there i went. im thinking next time, ill try from a higher rpm, my shifting was perfect, didnt miss a single gear, so i got that part down. but none the less it was a blast and im thinking about hitting up atco wed night for another try.
