Troll ur being a lil biased yourself as well, the thing im saying an evo 9 with a turbo back and a tune compared to a sti with a turbo back and a tune, what are some hard numbers u say the wrx makes, the evo 9s are making anywhere between 320-345 with just that and a tune, and they are damn fast

I understand your point of view as well, that the STi is alot like the EVO but in reality they are still diffrent cars, similiar yes but not the same

And also wanted to note that in any other forum i ever came upon a thread like this it always stirs the same replies Mitsu people will say Evo, Subaru people will say Subaru but in reality the evo is still a better far more reliable car

The evos main weakness is the clutch but there are evos with an aftermarket clutch getting beat to death daily and driving around with all the rest of the driveline stock while a friend of mine had an sti and went thru 2 rears in a matter of time and he really didnt drive that much diffrent then me.

The tranny seems to be the weak point in the Subarus as a general or maybe thats just my understanding correct me if im wrong

When it comes to the interior of either of the car they are both not to luxurious

If Mitsu came out with a 2.4 Turbo Evo I would have to say hands down, I like the Mitsu better. At this point I have a feeling we will get an LGT next.

what exactly is the point of a thread like this? debating is debating, but you seem like you are expecting to win all of us over and say, ''you know what, you're right. the evo really IS better.''
and thats not going to happen.

both the STi and the EVO pros and cons, and it all just comes down to a matter of personal preference.

This statement is not true. An sti with turboback and tune will do 300whp. An evo 9 with turboback and tune will do around 370whp. That's a big difference.

Your attempts at to prove that the Evolution is better than the STi are laughable. And your opinions are severely skewed to the current car that you own.
To many members, myself included, you appear to be nothing but a Mitsubishi fanboy.

I could handle this three ways:
1. The first time I will use my "Official Flame"
2. Give a real response with pros about both cars.
3. Ignore this thread and your blatantly obvious fanboy/ignorant/elitist
posts then laugh with the other TST members who also realize that you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Hopefully this thread shall improve.

Most STi owners are older guys who like the more crown vic quality ride, well maybe not crown vic, but the ride is less harsh/stiff on the sti, the steering is also less precise so thats more of an old guy car,

it more for a guy that isnt all about racing just the occasional spirited drive

Both cars have there pros and cons, but as far as performace is concerned, an evo can dip into 11's on stock turbo. Have you heard of any sti's dipping into 11's on stock turbo, its hard for them to hit 11's on turbos such as sz55's, fp greens, and aps sr55's. An evo is much more mod friendly, like said before a turboback exhaust, mbc, and tune will get you in upwards of 350 + whp. I am a subie guy myself, but I must admit the evo is much better to drive, you can beat the **** out of them, and they keep running the next day. I had a friend with an sti, just turboback and front mount, blew his motor within 20k, two rears withing 20k, and 1 trans within 20k. Thats just nuts. Anyways, if your looking in performace aspect, buy an evo, they are much faster with the same parts, but if your looking for more style and something more comfortable, then buy an sti.

I def wouldn't agree on that. You are stereotyping the age of sti owners, when I'm sure that the number of drivers in the age group of 18-25 outnumbers those of older folk.

I respected your opinions up to this point... now you're just being lame and retarded.

And as a side note... the STI tranny is strong as hell and thank GOD it is tougher than the older school WRX trannys... because you were right in that they were known for problems... thankfully they are resolved

Although I did go to the dealer with the intent on buying a crown vic... too bad they don't come in world rally blue...

Bought my WRX in 2003, before the Evolution was hinted to hit US soil.

this isnt even an argument, the results at the EVO vs sti event at englishtown speak for themselves. bolton stis were annihilated by bolton evos, not even in the same league
