I live out in the boonies, so I use it here. When I go to NE Philly I don't have any issues with reception and or dropped calls. I've had my phone through Virginia mountains. I also had my phone down in New Orleans.

I left Verizon to go to AT&T for the new iPhone and I really wish that I hadn't. The phone is great but I get calls dropped CONSTANTLY.

I'll say it again- AT&T drops my calls CONSTANTLY.

I will have FULL service, which means 5 bars AND 3G service and the call is STILL dropped.

I was with Verizon for 3 years and I can literally count on ONE hand how many dropped calls I had. (If you are curious, the number is 2)

Go with Verizon, seriously.

i've had tmobile for 4 years and now that i commute more, i dont have clear service in several areas like in hatboro, abington and some other areas. however i have a 2nd phone with metro i get reception anywhere i go in my daily commutes. they dont cover all the areas due to being new in the philadelphia market but in abington where my tmobile phone doesnt have a signal, metro does and that works for me. good news is metro keeps expanding so thats good for me and my pocket. cant beat $40 a month for unlimited talk, text and web. comes out to $49 a month with taxes and everything.

HOWEVER

this weekend im signing up with att and getting the iphone 3gs and we'll see how that works out.

I honestly don't see how so many people have dropped calls with AT&T. I've had maybe 3 or 4 dropped calls.

I LOVE AT&T. I have had 4 different carriers over the last year or so... Metropcs- i left because the service sucked EVERYWHERE. Tmobile- Left because rarely had service in area's that shouldn't be a problem, and i was getting boned on the monthly. Boost Mobile- Still have, good when needed.

I have ATT now, i almost always have full service even when working in a underground basement or in a room with 3" thick walls. Simply the best in the area, no calls dropped nothing like that.

Im telling ya for this region. AT&T is where its at, they have tons of cell phone towers up here. Plus last week tmobile lost 7 towers, half of there customers couldn't call they're own family.

I have been in 2 story basements without having a problem

i had both verizon and att(cingular).. both have been good to me.. currently I have the blackberry storm w/ 450 mins and blackberry service(internet, txts, etc) for about $110/mo.. bit pricey but about the same you would probably pay for an Iphone a month.MY friends iphone bill is about the same. Never had dropped calls on either but maybe some choppy service.

I am leaning towards AT&T and keeping the boost two-way chirpie phone for strictly work or something. If I get At&T I'd get an Iphone and I don't want to mess that baby up, so I don't know about using it for work....ugh...

I have Verizon, and I couldn't be happier. I had Cingular/AT&T back in the day, and it sucked ass. I got no service what-so-ever in my house. And if I did, it would last all of 15 seconds when I was on the phone. I was talking to one of my buddies, who had Verizon, who got service every where. He made the switch to AT&T for like a week, and realized how crappy their service was. I was like I told you so. He then switched back the very next day and was back on Verizon. I have gotten service out in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay, and could hear any incoming call clear as day. I have no complaints with Verizon. I also have no dropped calls.

I've sat IN MY BASEMENT W/ CINDERBLOCK WALLS and I have been on the phone, no where near a window, and could talk clearly to the other person. Go with Verizon, you will not be disapointed.
