The way I see it, the SR is the better quick fix. It will be in the same price range, but you can get a decent one, and swap it within a week. The ka-t will need to be built properly beforehand, but it will be better if not equal to the SR depending on what turbo, parts, etc you use. Or you can just go RB, lol.

KAs are as old as SRs. I really hate when people use that argument because there are SRs that are newer than the newest KAs. I have an S14 SR which is newer than most KAs out there...
