^sup dude

I got the whole stick shift down... I took it out with a friend and after about 8 stalls I got it. A cop was just chillin the parking lot we were in though, waiting for me to burn out or something. Or maybe he was admiring my car? lol

But I drove home from the lot and everything. I just have to practice parking because my car was rumbling because I was in 2nd and my revs were too low. I think after 3 days I'll be 100% confident on the road, but just to be safe I'm not driving to work tomorrow. One more day of practice.

It is really smooth. I tried learning stick on my sister's old 03 GTI and the clutch was so deep, but this one is nice and shallow and it shifts smoothly. A little notchy between 2nd and 3rd, but that's apparently common with nearly all 08 models. It shifts smoother at higher revs, but I only have 50 miles.

Nice Evo! I learned how to drive stick on mine too. Took me a couple weeks to get it down, partly because none of my friends/family knew how to drive stick so I was on my own. Hardest part for me was getting going from a stop. I kept releasing the clutch too fast so the car would bog down and/or stall.

I actually had to have Eclipse GSX 61 drive it to my house after I bought it (he worked at the dealership at the time) I wasn't about to take it out on my own at dusk with 2 minutes of seat time after paying nearly 30k. Once I was home, I was able to practice in my neighborhood.

those evolution Xs are gorgeous and especially the gray metallic for sure.

So much tuning potential as well. They are severely detuned/ rich running from the factory.

Get it tuned and some tasteful mods and it will only get better.

The clutch seems to have a short life as well. Not sure, but I think Mitsubishi will replace it after like 12K miles as regular maintenance.

Definitely picking one up after I sell my z in a few years.

You really should have practiced stickshift with some old car because replacin the clutch for an Evo or WRX is expensive.
