yeah, its a tough decision. I would imagine TTing the 5.0 while badass would cost a ton at first. I don't know how ford computers works so tuning from their ecu alone idk how well that would work. I would think that tuning the v6 would be more cost effective.. at least at first. is the 5.0 a SOHC again? if so
i don't know much about either engine, other than their will be an option for either one.

i'm trying to cut down on my usage of the ellipsis

1. Challenger
2. Tie for least. I'm not big on the Mustang but that Camaro is hideous (seen it in person 3 times now so I did wait to make sure lol). If the Camaro had nicer look or the Mustang was faster it would be easier to separate them.

everywhere I've read put the challenger last and the camaro and the mustang in a tie for first..

just wondering what made you choose the challenger as #1.

Well too be honest I've had a lot of exposure to them lately. The local Mopar group meets every other Saturday but they allow any cars. So I've seen, heard, sat in etc. a few of them and I just like the car for what it is. It has respectable numbers in r/t form, looks good, comfortable to sit in, rides like every other muscle car so I don't know what else I would look for.

I like how the mustang looks but I'm not really impressed with the hp it puts out (yes you can get a Shelby but look at the price jump). My father sold Fords for a while so I have driven them and do know why people who like them find them appealing. Lastly the Camaro for whatever reason while the rest of the GM loving world thinks the Camaro looks great I think it's hideous. I don't like the grill, the pointed nose or the proportions. I should mention I have nothing against GM, I have owned a few Pontiacs and think they make good cars in general. I will also say I don't hate the Camaro as much as when I first saw it but I do think of it as an opportunity lost for a failing company that decided to revive an automotive icon. All of this is just my opinion of course.

It's not the original 5.0, 302 is dead and gone, I even think ford destroyed all the molds for the blocks in 2002.

Too much press pushes "5.0" in everyone's face and figure we'll all go nuts. The real 5.0 Icon is gone. Ford won't go back to pushrods and OHC technology is here to stay for them.

No offense to you though.

I don't think he meant his roots as in a pushrod 302, but his roots just as in a 5.0 in general, his roots as in ford. It will be a totally new beast, thats for sure. OHC 5.0 yummy yummy

This site is called tristatetuners not tristatemusclecars!

There is no way you can compare a turbo 4cyl to a N/A 6.2L. The evo, etc.. are all very nice "cars" but they are far from a muscle car.

Its the 21st century, and an evo, z, or sti, is just as much a muscle car as the modern mustang, camaro, and challenger. With regard to their place in pop culture, purpose, and performance. They are just as much equivalent in todays car culture as the old school muscle cars of the 60s-70s, as the american muscle cars of today. Just being real.

But i know you want to keep this to american muscle cars so carry on. I like them all to be honest, and they all have bige factory performance parts that can push them far past stock and still keep the warranty. Good stuff
..........+1
Challenger
Camaro
Mustang

mustang gt for me on weight alone... power mods will mean more in the end... 500whp mustang will beat a 500whp camaro and destroy a 500whp challenger.

x2

i dont think anyone is looking at anything else but the power. while only 315hp the mustang is just as fast as the camaro and faster on a track, while the challeger is only kinda fast in a straight line, thats it.

I'm also looking at styling and comfort lol. Any one of them can be modified to be faster then the others but ugly is hard to get past. The mustang just isn't there for me but I would still take one over the Camaro.

eh, the camaro is just a older model corvette with new sheet metal. Kinda ugly.

I've been in plenty of mustangs, not a newer one yet, unfortunately. I always found them comfortable for me. I like the new face lift, looks much better.

Challenger looks amazing, dont get me wrong. It just doesnt stand up performance wise compared to the other two, as a cruiser, its an amazing car.

Camaro SS FTW! If I lived in the South East I honestly would have bought a beater to hold me over until these came out. Great looks, 426 hp, and Brembo's for 31K. (even optional auto trans) It's an insane bang for the buck. Stock this thing would walk all over my tuned Legacy for the same price.

What are the suspensions setups, weight distributions, interiors, brake packages? I need more than just power since getting power from any one of the 3 is pretty easy, especially nowdays. I need a good suspension to work with mostly. I would love to say i would sell my '06 STI for the a new Camaro SS, but I highly doubt i would...maybe.
I want a ZO6.
