its unfortunate, he will be missed. i guess good thing im not a big sports guy. Im hardly phased by this. Still gets my respect because even i know his voice.

I know, I know, I know... I live under a rock. I never watch professional sports. I’d probably recognize the voice if I heard it, but the name does nothing for me.

I didn’t even watch the Superbowl last year and I’ve only seen one baseball game in the past six years. When sports become less about money and showboating, I’ll watch ‘em.

it's so surreal. i definitely agree with whoever said it feels like they've lost a friend. not gonna lie, i always hated pro baseball growing up even though i played varsity baseball myself... but i watched the phillies all summer long because of harry kalis. he made the games enjoyable. his voice was always one of those thing you had at a summer barbecue. hot dogs - check. burgers - check. phils on TV with Kalis announcing - check.

my dad's going to be wrecked when he hears the news. he always yells "long fly ball... deep center field.... it's outta here!" in his best Kalis voice. he loved that guy too.

it will not be the same without him.

its really bizarre to me how much this is affecting me as well as others. whomever said that it felt like they've lost a friend hit the nail right on the head. one of, if not the absolute best voice in sports is gone forever. if nothing else, the Phils certainly have a reason to repeat.
