If it were me, I would do this;

Go to subaru Genuineparts.com. Look into the LGT BBK upgrade, just because it doesnt look as good as johnny B fast's brakes doesnt mean it doesnt work.

The LGT brakes are much much larger than stock, still 2 piston fronts and single rear but have a much larger contact patch and larger rotor. Still larger than 4 pots where the rotor is still the same as your stock ones. More surface means better stopping. Susies Legacy has larger rear brakes than our WRXs and it stops 10x smoother than ours do. And you can get the set for much less than 4/2 pots.

just a thought. I think its worth it. Only down side is you cannot run a 16in wheel at all, the front caliper is too big it wont fit into the wheel.

Firstly I'd like to say that this thread is very informative. Good stuff Troll and everyone really.

With that said, I agree that the front brakes need attention first. With my MR2, there was a brake change between 91 and 93. They went to bigger rotors and 2 piston calipers as opposed to single in the front. Anyway, I'm just saying that because most guys in the community do the upgrade because it's still "stock" and it's cheaper, but performs better than your original stuff. So +1 for looking into the front brake upgrade.

Other than that, a lot of guys I know run Powerslot rotors. I was going to try them eventually when I had my red car because I could get a full set for $410 shipped to my door. But then I obviously sold it. My new car has the above mentioned 93+ front brakes and SS lines and I can tell a HUGE difference from my other car, and that's just on stock pads!! Defiantly look into just going with the "newer stock" upgrade in the front and just get some good pads for the rear.

I have also heard good things about Brembo blanks though too. It all really depends on your budget and how hard you drive your car/where you need it to perform the best.

Good luck man.

I am not sure if you're going to be putting different calipers on or what, but if you do, you will need to change the proportioning valve and master cylinder. If you have bigger calipers with smaller caliper components, not only will it take more time for the pressure to build aka more pedal travel, but you won't be using the new calipers,pads and rotors to their full potential.

I have an 06 w 4pots, but i just did lines, pads and DRT Drilled and slotted rotors for about $400. Def inprovement i needed rotors anyway and these drilled and slotted were an upgrade for same or less than oem.
