As to staying on topic. I agree with the first non-white president point of view but I would think calling him the first African-American president is also correct. No matter his descent his features are still those associated with the race.

Not all I'm sure but there was a large percentage. I was at the diner last night and they were showing the post-inauguration interviews with people, and one lady was so excited that "I now have a black president". There are way too many people more worried about the color of his skin rather than what he is going to do for this country, and I can guarantee that if he had been white, it would have played out differently, he would probbably still have won, but not with a 17%? margin.

Oh, and please, he's not African-American, he's black. He was not born in Africa, he was born in America, I don't mean to sound racist but that's how I see it.

Whatever mix he is, he is now our new president. Hopefully he will do the country good, and more importantly I hope the country doesn't follow him like the herd of sheep that we are turning into.

There are ALOT of racist people out there that i'm sure voted Mccain just because he's white and alot of Black people did vote for Obama, all in all though he really is half Caucasian and half Arabic atleast thats how I see it, such a small percentage African.

All that matters at the end of the day is that we as a country get out of this mess. My own view is if McCain had a different VP candidate the race would of been tighter. I voted for Obama because McCain would of kept us in the same rut we are in because of Bush. Obama will accomplish absolutely NOTHING in his first 4 years because there is way too much of a hole that we are in financially. We also need to understand how gov't works, nothing happens until it's approved so it's not just Obama it's everyone else we put in office as our voice.

I voted for ron paul, I give the go-ahead to old white people with sound economic and civic ideas, not pull money out of our taxpayers asses and hope that everything works out alright.
