What was done to it? and i wasnt just talking about stis, i was kinda talking about all cars in general, launching is very hard on the car, and with enough times, every car will break something. Stis have a higher tolerence than many though.

jays car was pretty stock only ewg and full exhaust.

and bluebyu i guess i am lucky.. however my old tires didnt get much traction. i would spin an awd car into second. ill see how long my transfer case lasts with my new tires... the 93 vr4s are said to have the strongest out of all years so we shall see.. any launches under 5-6 bogg my car down lol

yea, i hate that bogging feeling. I have to have my car above like 4.5 to avoid it. But evidently the ideal launch for my car is 5k ish

stis have a lower tolerance due to all that damn torque. Ive seen many a subie break an axle, even just mildly modded.

I have 50+ launches at 6k in the past year at the track, lots on closed roads and my clutch is holding strong(knock on wood).

christ NASA would have a ball over this, they'd take every spaceship out of commission. everyone wants to know how to launch a car.

5 put the handle down and launch
exactly wat i do.

hit the track about 20ish time n act a fool here n there on the roads and still on my OEM STOCK clutch

but what do i know i drive a civic.

If you smell burning clutch, let it out faster, but if you let it out too fast i will bog, you have to find the happy spot.

Or you can just make more power and launch with anti-lag so you can get some wheelspin coming off the line. Tires are easier to replace than a clutch.

the sweet spot is easily found on a regular everyday start find exactly where the clutch disenages and practice launch at progressivly higher rpms right now i can launch flawlessly at 3k no bog nothing 4k i bog need more practice and at launch control (5k) i have no experience.

Tru about the axles. But our trannys and clutches are bullet proof.

I had about 150 passes on the evo, mostly low 12 second passes, all on the original stock OEM clutch. And when I changed it in favor of the Exedy twin disc HD my clutch was still not slipping and barely had any heat marks on the flywheel..Ray even saw it!
Clutch life is 90% driving style and the other 10 is a combination of power, mileage, ect.
