So whenever an EVO wins, the other driver was a moron? I don't think you're giving us enough credit, Silver T.

And before you answer that question, you haven't even asked me (9 Ball) how many azz kickings I've handed out after midnight? What type of cars I've gone up against? What caliber driver were they? The EVO owners on this site are a pretty calm bunch (thank God, that's why I'm here) and we don't trade too many racing stories because, I think everyone knows deep down, we have more stories than most people can handle.

I've seen more EVOs race than anybody on here, why, because I own one. And just for the record... you don't seem to be supporting one of the best friends you have, us. The V8 guys aren't all that fond of the SRT. When a 6 foot, 220 pound owner an 80's model Monte Carlo was talking s@!t about one of the WRX's (I think Bryans) at Franklin Mills last summer, getting real loud with me, and dissrespecting the Red Robin click, I was right there in his f#@*n face, ready to run. But then he said, "he had a Hemi... at home."

This is kinda long so don't take it the wrong way. I got love for you Silver T!

But it seems like everytime there is a story about an EVO outrunning another car... someone, all too often has to contradict the story.

Argh... I said I wasn't going to respond to this... oh well.

LOL Na dude dont even worry about it. I still act asif we had our mustang ( 2003 GT) And im not used to the "imports" being able to keep up...Thats because the civic's and their cardboard body kits destroyed the image of the imported car...That and the movie F&F With the absolutely riced out cars....But hey you guys do your thing. I cant really talk down on imports because we now own one...well not technically...but alot of people see the SRT-4 as being the "domestic import" Which is kinda funny but another yet longer story.

Like i said its just hard to believe that a car like that can keep up with a car of such caliber. Thats all

The funniest part of it...he has a black GT with a red Cobra R kit on it and import mufflers. The Cobra was at the Franklin Mills area meet last nite....someone yelled pepboys mufflers at him lol and the white Evo...did the guy have a beard cuz i think he was behind us on the way down

the white rs was modded and was being drivin by a great driver

the cobra had intake and exhaust(which was an ich of the ground and bottomed out during the race)

that same cobra killed an modded s4, supercharged s2000, lightning, and multiple evos

clearly the white rs was modded and it sounded like a race car(smelled like race gas) but im not sure if it was that evo

anyway the stories are diffrent from diffrent crowds - bottom line modded evo beat lightly modded cobra

All and all the sunday spot might turn into the races if we dont be carefull - i took part in blocking of w****** rd(along with 20 other cars) for races to be held - with the newly paved road its perfect

Another case of a nice v8 that needs a better driver I'm sure...top end it would destroy the evo...gears are so quick in those things[evo], woulda got walked after 60mph by the slobra...

not saying evos can't hang with the best of 'em, but they lack some low end torque in my opinion but are quick cars on a short track

Yeah. The Cobra is a monster when it comes to torque. I have to say, there is something beastly about that car. If the EVO/STI wasn't here in the states... I would consider the big snake. The sight and sound of that thing launching are something to behold.

And stock vs. stock, the Cobra usually has a higher trap speed. I've seen about equal quarter mile times however (low 13.3, 13.2 etc.)

But I think it says a lot when the little EVO keeps getting attacked by some of the heaviest iron on the street. And the EVO was never intended as a drag racer (it's a rally car.)

There seems to be a rivalry growing between the Cobra and the EVO, almost more then the EVO/STI. I've raced more Cobras then I can count... and each time... it feels like war.

they were also racing uphill which helped the cobra

I heard he was running 24lbs of boost (thats what i heard)

Had to be something to walk a cobra by 4 cars up a hill - twice

Just remember, turning the boost up on that cobra can hurt its times if not properly tuned. It takes more HP away from the car to put out more boost and produce greater amounts of HP

Anyhow, I don't like mustangs a bit, and imports for that matter either, but hey, if its fast, it gets respect

guys all this smack talk on evos......i have personally beat numerous modded cobras....2 of which are people i know.....yes i was on 23 psi and yes there was most likly race gas in my car but oh well i think its fair when i have 4 less cyl..... people need to check out the evo forums if they doubt the evo....even top end on a roll they can be very fast cars...don't get me wrong cobras are nasty as hell! But for some reason a lot of people just cant come to the fact that so are MODDED EVOS!!!! if anyone wants to disagree I will give you a ride and show you what i mean....Its been a long time since i have been beaten by any car on the street....i am sure it will happen one day but it has not happen yet.

Maybe we should do a group buy on cameras for our 4WD ricers, so we can document each azz kicking.

... just a thought.

I'll have to take you up on that one of these nights.

I'm in Northeast Philly (near an I95 exit) and Lansdowne PA (near the Airport.)

Been wanting to do some vids with me and friends WRX. ;)

evilution I dont doubt your car but would like a ride. I always feel weird asking soemone for a ride so i just never was in one yet. No one i know has a EVO or a STI and i wanna know how great they really are. I have heard so much about them. Im only 17 but i plan on getting a used evo9 down the road if i can find a nice one, just on looks and what i have heard it sounds good enough for me
