i'm actually looking at a new phone too.

Alot of the pda's that at&t are preloaded with the windows on it. If you REALLY dont want windows. i would go with a blackberry pearl or curve. pearls keypad is smaller and the letters are next to each other, where as the curve's is more spaced out. I've been looking at the pantech duo. It does come with windows but it has the dual sliding keyboard. the only negative thing is it has a plastic feel and look to it. The tilt is suppose to be pretty good too. Windows is supposedly easy to learn on the phone and there is a way to shut down alot of the programs it instantly boots up so the phone runs faster.

You could go to any at&t store and talk to a customer service rep. Now i know, they are going to try to sell you the most expensive phone. As long as you are straight forward with what you want and how much you are willing to spend, they should be able to point you in the right direction or even let you know whether you should wait for something better. good luck =]

let me know if you find anything good!

Bugs happen on every phone, regardless of the operating system. Both generations of Iphones have had issues, Blackberries have issues, etc. The good thing about modern phones is that you have the ability to upgrade the OS/Firmware and apply patches yourself.

I have an AT&T Tilt (HTC TyTn II), and I love it. It does lock up every once in a while, but there is a firmware update for that from HTC (I have not done it since I run a custom OS). It really is an all in one phone. Email, IM, GPS (I use TomTom, which is just like a stand alone GPS), and it's pretty easy to tether it to a PC.

If you want a windows mobile device that is more reliable, go with a Palm. The Palm Pro just came out, and it looks to be less chunky then the previous 700 series Treos.

Actually iphones if let be have very little problems now, and apple is good to fix it or replace the phone if its defective no questions asked. Plus tomtom is developing GPS software for the iphone
screen shot of GPS

Plus with 3rd party software makes the iphone the most badass thing around. Heres a picture of mine( 1st gen iphone, 2.1 firmware "hacked" )

I'm a former iPhone user. I've also had an AT&T tilt, and I now have a Blackberry Curve. I switched back to the iPhone from the Curve only to go back to the Curve again. I really liked the Tilt, but it's kinda expensive. I sold it and got the iPhone. But, I absolutely love the Blackberry. It's not as "awesome" as the iPhone, but it works a lot smoother and has a lot of nice features, great battery life, great call quality, etc. I find the Curve easier to type on than an iPhone as well.

I use one as my work phone. It reminds me a bit of a Blackberry 8700c. As long as you don't mind it being a little chunky, I think it's a great phone.

That was my point, all phones have issues (at one point or another in their history). My other point was the fact that you can get updates from the manufacturer and update the phone yourself (to fix bugs).

That's great that TomTom is making something for the iPhone! IMO, they make some of the best consumer GPS devices/software.

Yo OMGz Turbo- I've got the 3g Iphone and I'm trying to get a different background on there besides the black one...This one dude I know has shelves under all his icons too which is pretty dope, and it's also 1st Gen.... So do you have to have the phone "hacked" or "jailbroken" to be able to get designs like that in the second pic you posted up? cuz I don't see any apps for backgrounds at all and i've been lookin for a while now. TIA

Yeah justin your phone looks badass. I just hated AT&T's service while I had them.
